Reviews for InterContinental Sydney

A lot to offer

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Very nice hotel with a fantastic location near the Opera House, Rocks, market, restaurants etc. Huge breakfast buffet that has so many options. Everything about the hotel is good to very good yet not exceptional. Maybe it is just to busy to to reach those heights. If you are in Sydney the location alone warrants a look at this hotel.

Amazing experience

Exceptional customer service and hotel, everything is 5 🌟. We added the breakfast and we're not dissapointed, it was the most amazing selection, with the added bonus of fruit and pastries to take with us. No request was a problem and our room was made up each day beautifully with little gifts on the bed! Thank you Bella and Sam for the extras. The pool view is unsurpassed and location cannot be beaten, we will definitely be back.

Unforgettable

The hotel was absolutely beautiful. It was a bit rainy during the week but the Lounge view from the 31st floor every morning with an incredible breakfest made every morning unforgettable. The staff if helpful and polite. Everyone was cheerful and welcoming which really made our stay that much more enjoyable. The location is perfect and provides a "once in a lifetime" experience.

Excellent location but very disappointing service. Will not return

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Pros: Exceptional Location: The hotel offers a breathtaking view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House. Spacious Rooms: The room was very spacious and comfortable, providing ample room for a family. Quality Breakfast: The breakfast offered a good variety of food options. Cons: Check-in and Room Upgrade Issues: The staff gave inconsistent and incorrect information regarding the complimentary room upgrade promised by the American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts (FHR) program. The experience felt like "haggling" rather than a seamless luxury check-in. Poor Restaurant Service: Wait staff at the Treasury restaurant were inattentive. A dirty, used glass with lipstick and fingerprints was served. The food was only "acceptable," and the wait time was long despite the restaurant not being busy. Lack of Follow-up on Service Requests: The requested turn-down service never occurred. A staff member who later arrived to assist with a few items seemed reluctant to take used glasses and rubbish. Inadequate Breakfast Service: Food, plates, and spoons were in short supply during a busy morning. A staff member handed over a spoon from a kitchen counter, raising concerns about hygiene. Last but not least, the hotel sent an email requesting for my feedback after the stay, which I spent time to write and provide in detail re the above but they didn't even bother to respond or acknowledge my feedback.
