The Langham Sydney

On arrival room was not ready and coats were given to staff with baggage. My baggage coat with earbuds in pocket were sent to wrong room. I was given key to wrong room and embarrassingly I was given key to wrong room to be confronted by young female guests. My baggage was moved to correct room my coat with earbuds lost. The hotel have ignored my efforts to resolve loss.

We loved our stay at this hotel. We had a city view King room but also had a partial view of the water which was great. The hotel is in a good location - away from all the high rise buildings. In theory it is within walking distance of attractions but in reality we used uber as it was very warm and humid. We used the valet parking which was useful although they did mention being on a list for this which we were not aware of. We found the room to be very relaxing and quiet - the staff kindly made arrangements for me to access the room via stairs as I do not use elevators. I had confirmed this prior to booking but had to call again as reception did not seem aware of this request. Loved the diptyque toiletries and of course the pens! The pool was appreciated. Breakfast was good too. We had a lovely time and would stay here again.

I recently stayed at The Langham to celebrate Shakey’s birthday and overall it was a memorable experience with some truly standout moments. When I made the booking, I had the pleasure of dealing with Pam, who was absolutely lovely, helpful and went above and beyond to ensure our stay would be special. She kindly reached out to coordinate with The James, as well as the spa and afternoon tea team, to see if Shakey could be included in our plans. Although we weren’t able to go ahead with the afternoon tea or spa treatment in the end, the effort and care Pam put into organising everything truly meant a lot to us and made the experience feel extra special from the start. Upon arrival, the concierge team who assisted us with dropping off our car were wonderful, friendly, welcoming and very helpful in guiding us through the process. However, the check-in experience at reception felt a bit underwhelming. It lacked warmth and didn’t feel particularly genuine, which was a little disappointing as it made me feel like just another guest rather than someone celebrating a special occasion. That said, the experience took a complete turn for the better later that evening at The James. The team working that night delivered exceptional service and completely turned things around for us. As we had our dog with us, they thoughtfully arranged a table for us in the lobby area just outside the restaurant so we could still enjoy the experience together. The staff were incredibly attentive, welcoming and they made a genuine effort to engage with us, greeted us warmly and even came out to wish Shakey a happy birthday. One staff member in particular went above and beyond by offering to check with the chef if they could prepare something special for Shakey. She even went out of her way to feed Shakey and cut the food into small bites to accommodate him which was such a thoughtful and heartwarming gesture that we truly appreciated. Overall, while there were a few minor hiccups, the outstanding service from Pam and the restaurant team truly made this birthday celebration one to remember. Their efforts, care and attention to detail did not go unnoticed, and we’re very grateful for the experience.

We had tickets to see shows at the Sydney Opera House over 2 separate nights and so we chose to stay at The Langham for a 4 night stay. The big plus for us is the Hotel allows us to bring our small dog along for the trip. We love The Langham, Sydney and have stayed there many times over the last 3 years. Rooms are spacious, the staff and service are excellent and the location on Kent Street is perfect.

This was the best hotel experience ever. Totally serene. Incredible staff. Great rooms, super king size beds. Loved the location.
