2 night stay review

Hotel amenities and views were 10/10, staff was very formal but helpful, would not recommend the food however. Breakfast was the same daily and I received undercooked chicken in my room service.

Not quite there

It's a bit hit and miss, Shangri la service is excellent. We booked a king opera house and got room 419, level 4, could only see the top of the sails of the Opera House from the bedroom, pretty disappointing and bathroom was for mobility impaired people, curtains no screens whish allowed water to go all over the floors so unable to shower and change in the bathroom. overall room size was good but yes its dated so for $500 I feel there's better. Breakfast was very good and the views from the bar is excellent. Was there for our wedding anniversary so feel you can find better

⭐ A Truly Exceptional 25th Anniversary Stay at Shangri-La Sydney

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

We had an amazing stay at Shangri-La Sydney for our 25th wedding anniversary and were genuinely impressed by the level of service and luxury throughout our stay. The Horizon Club was a real highlight — stunning views, excellent food and truly attentive service. Breakfast was exceptional, especially the omelette, which was honestly one of the best I have had anywhere despite travelling extensively throughout Asia. Housekeeping was also outstanding. Our room was beautifully serviced in the morning and then attended to again later with evening turndown service, which gave the whole stay a true five-star luxury feeling. What stood out most was the consistency of the service. The staff made us feel welcome, valued and well looked after from start to finish. The hotel may have a more classic style than some newer Sydney hotels, but the overall experience felt genuinely luxurious, comfortable and special. We left extremely happy and would definitely stay again.

Disappointing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Firstly the room & view was amazing, this is sadly where our experience ended. We went to the Blue Bar on our first evening for cocktails, they were good so decided to order some more & some snacks. It took over 30 minutes for the drinks to arrive & we are still waiting for the snacks. A staff member asked if everything was ok & we mentioned we had ordered snacks, I went to the toilet at this point. He came back & told my husband that the snacks hadn't been ordered & he would come back when I was there so see if we still wanted the snacks, we didn't see him again. We left after 10 minutes & mentioned it again to another staff member as we were charging our room, he took our room number & again never heard back. Ok the 2nd day we decided to try the breakfast, we were left waiting for 10 minutes for a table whilst other guests were shown to tables. The food was rather disappointing, the mushrooms looked like they had been sat around in the sun for 2 weeks & were cold, the scrambled eggs were like warm & no one was clearing plates of tables. We paid a bit extra as we wanted a bit of luxury for our last few days in Australia & unfortunately we didn't get the experience we expected.
