Rising over Darling Harbour, W Sydney instantly captures the eye with the undulating lines of its futuristic exterior and striking interiors that pay homage to the hotel’s NSW locale. Daring and original, a sleek retreat where bold design meets the larrikin spirit, seamlessly melding Sydney and Australia’s cultural touchstones to create an all-encompassing dining and social destination. The Darling Harbour hotel transforms as day turns to night, from the evocative future-noir allure of the Living Room bar and kinetic energy of BTWN restaurant to AWAY Spa, a refreshing sanctuary amid its concrete city surrounds, and the panoramic harbor views from WET Deck and double story rooftop bar, 29/30. Within each of W Sydney’s guest rooms, suites, and studios, marine chic design interiors channel the hotel’s harbourside location and Sydney’s stunning coastlines. W Sydney is ahead of the curve, making room for renegades to eat, drink, play, and stay in inimitable style.

Checked in this evening with my wife, and from the moment our car dropped us, the service has been impeccable. Two different attendees by cars offered to take our luggage and help us to check in. This was followed by us being in a very short que at guest check in, when not only one but two different managers offered assistance, apologized for the wait (though we barely waited), and told us to get out our ID to make ease of check in easier. The man who helped at the desk was very friendly and kind. And, going above and beyond, one of the female managers even offered to make us a reservation at the restaurant upstairs called BTWN. Exceptional service we usually only see at hotels like the Ritz. The vibe at the hotel was perfect and hip, beginning with the very pretty escalator ride up to check in. Giving it an exclusive yet warm feel at the same time. My wife and I then ate at BTWN and had yet further amazing service by Yuma. Food was delicious especially the tuna tartar, wagu sirloin, and broccolini. Beautiful view of the harbor while we enjoyed dinner! Also always love how inclusive and gay friendly the W is!

Unfortunately it was freezing in the room, and the change room/ after treatment space. Even the therapist hands were cold - never happened to me. I was told at the start that if the temperature was too cold I should ask for it to be adjusted. Little did I know it would result in a thin blanket/sheet placed on my body. The treatment was very good but I found it hard to relax as eventually my brain was very much focused on trying not think about the fact I was freezing. I did mentioned this as I exited but the reception seemed to care more about payment / charges to my credit card - won’t be returning.

We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary at W Sydney the experience was truly amazing. Our room was upgraded & to our surprise we found rose petals on the floor & bed a record player playing 80's music a bottle of prosecco & a picture frame with our wedding photo and much more, all complimentary. Thank you to Sarah for making our anniversary celebration so amazing. The breakfast was delicious & the staff so friendly. We are coming back to celebrate my mum's 90th birthday. Looking forward to another amazing experience. Thank you

Disappointment • Originally booked for four nights, on check in on the Sunday night I asked what would happen if I needed to leave a day early; stay three nights, leave on Wednesday 30th NOT Thursday 1st • I was told to let hotel know with 24 hour’s notice from the check in time, 15.00 which I took to be Wednesday 30th. • I checked out Wed 30th at 07.30 and asked to cancel the night of the 30th and was told that I needed to have cancelled on the Tuesday 29th by 15.00? • I find this is to be very unsatisfactory. • There was no one at Check in/out senior to speak to and I was refused a specific email for customer services or the general manager. I just emailed "w.Sydney@" which we know is the mailbox that never gets answered. Guest should be aware breakfast is served at times in a cavernous converted function room, not a F+B area, hardly a relaxing start to the day as you walk round a huge space to find food for the AUS$55 fee! I followed the advice given, if there are timelines for cancelling rooms they should be clear. I also find it totally unacceptable not be extended the courtesy of a person's email when I ask for it. Frankly its put me off ever booking W or Marriot again
