Reviews for Four Seasons Hotel Sydney

Great Location and Hospitality!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We had a great stay at the Four Seasons Sydney. The location is unbeatable — just steps from Circular Quay and the Opera House — and while the hotel is a bit older, the service is truly outstanding. A special shoutout to Carol at the front desk, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. After finding out it was our first time in Sydney, she took the time to make sure we had a great room, followed up with us to see how everything was going, and added thoughtful touches that made our trip feel extra special. Carol’s warmth and attention to detail made our first visit to Sydney unforgettable and we are so appreciative!

Quintessential Luxury City Hotel with #1 Breakfast

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

My partner and I stayed at the Four Seasons Sydney and absolutely loved it! We've stayed at other Four Seasons properties throughout the world, and this city hotel definitely made the mark. Although our room wasn't ready when we arrived (around 7:30am in the morning since we had just arrived on a flight from Los Angeles), the bellman stored our luggage and the front desk gave us keys to access the spa facilities on the 3rd floor so that we could shower and change. The gym on the 3rd floor is well equipped with lots of different machines...more than just a few like other hotels. We also really appreciated the water, towels, and packets of liquid IV in the gym (A+)!!! The gym is connected to the spa facilities, which have separate men and women's areas, with bathrooms, showers, lockers, steam room, and sauna. This definitely helped to start off our first day in Sydney fresh. The hotel is in a perfect location - close to the Rocks, and very close to Circular Quay (a stop on the Train, the Light Rail, and also a number of buses). We found navigating around the city super easy from Circular Quay. In the early afternoon we received a text that the room was ready, and when we arrived, the bellman had already placed our luggage in the room (A+)! Since the Four Seasons doesn't have a rewards/points program (we typically stay at Marriott Bonvoy properties), we booked through Delta Airlines to get the best room rate we could find. Although it was only a deluxe room (small), I appreciated the separate shower & tub, and plenty of space throughout the room. Housekeeping was great each day, and saw that we had disposed of many waterbottles, so they always left us a few extra - a lovely touch. The first night we assumed that housekeeping would provide turn down service, but we were wrong. Turns out, if you'd like turndown service, you must request it. Not a big deal, but I wish this was told to us at check-in. So if you're reading this, and you want turn down service, just send the friendly staff a text (there's a QR code on your room key sleeve and you can chat with the staff for anything you need). Special thanks to Arnaud (Hotel Manager) and the team for making my graduation trip so special. They even surprised us with a bottle of wine and a small cake saying "Congratulations" with a note card welcoming us back to another Four Seasons property. I'll end my review with this: Yes, the buffet breakfast is ALL THAT, AND THEN SOME as most other reviews have highlighted. Definitely one of the BEST hotel breakfasts I've ever experienced in the world...and I've been to a lot! We will definitely come back to the Four Seasons on another trip to Sydney.

Fabulous Four Seasons!

Our stay started with excellent communication with Hani and Pierce while making our reservation- they were extremely knowledgeable. My adult son and I stayed at the Four Seasons for 4 nights and it was wonderful! Aly checked us in early and provided a room to use until our permanent room was ready. What an amazing gesture to start our stay- later that afternoon we were upgraded to Room 1911 with beautiful views of the Harbour, and a welcome gift of chocolates. Our room was clean, quiet, and spacious. The staff was so professional and friendly- they greeted us by name. Lucia at the concierge desk had delicious restaurant suggestions: 6HEAD, Sydney Cafe, Pony, Bennelong, Squire’s Landing, Glenmore Hotel Rooftop, and Sammy’s for cocktails. She always had a big smile and was ready to help. The location was great- near the ferries, trams, Opera House, and walking distance to so many restaurants. Gabriel at the front desk was so kind to treat us to a complimentary breakfast. We are loyal Hyatt customers, but we were delighted with our first stay at Four Seasons Sydney- thank you for making our vacation perfect!

Disappointing Stay – Not Up to Four Seasons Standards

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We booked a two-night stay expecting the exceptional quality and service typically associated with the Four Seasons brand. Unfortunately, this property did not meet those expectations and falls far short of what one would expect from a five-star hotel. Check-in was delayed, and when we finally got to our room, it was smaller than expected and clearly in need of updates. The room had a persistent unpleasant smell and a dirty carpet—both signs of delayed maintenance. While the staff eventually addressed the odor so we could stay in the room, the initial condition was unacceptable. The food in the lounge was passable but not memorable, and breakfast was well below the Four Seasons' usual standard. We also requested extra pillows and blankets—something very basic—and while the bell person acknowledged our request, they never arrived. Additionally, there was no turndown service provided, even though we specifically requested it. When we asked to be moved to another room, the manager declined, offering no real solution beyond addressing the smell. The two stars in this review are for the convenient location and the eventual effort to resolve the odor issue. Otherwise, this stay did not reflect the luxury, attention to detail, or high service standards the Four Seasons brand promises. Disappointing overall.

Fantastic views but noisy

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Wonderful hotel with everything you could desire; great pool, gym with hammam and sauna (single sex not mixed) etc.. We stayed twice in 2 different rooms, each having spectacular views over harbour and morning sunsets…BUT the noise pollution in room 2514 is significantly above what is should be, we were woken up by noisy motorcycles, so remedial works are necessary to window insulation..
