Reviews for Sofitel Sydney Wentworth

Fantastic stay with wonderful staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. From the lovely warm welcome to comfortable, spacious and luxurious room everything was perfect. The breakfast buffet was delicious, extensive and in a lovely setting - open and airy. All staff were friendly and efficient, and the location was great for visiting all the amazing sights of Sydney. We very much look forward to returning soon. Thank you

Great place to stay if you are fussy

Great service, great rooms with high end amenities. Clean comfortable bed, good size room with decent seating and table in room for office work. Bar and restaurant downstairs good, welcome drink voucher a nice touch. Short walk to Circular Key, Botanic Gardens etc. We asked for interconnecting rooms and got exactly what we’d requested ✅

Continues to be top shelf

The service was outstanding - sceptics may argue that from a 5 star hotel, this is expected. But it was still above expectations. We had a meal at the Delta Rue restaurant - well worth the reservation. The Wentworth Bar is situated outdoors - not on top of the building. A great spot for a drink whilst taking in the general hustle and bustle of one of the best parts of the City.

Will try to avoid honouring status benefits - ALL members be aware!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

This hotel is relatively nice, but they do not like giving benefits to ALL status holders. Clearly management have been instructed not to acknowledge benefits if they can get away with it, and won’t proactively welcome status holders. You get the feeling they just don’t want you there and you’re treated like a “freeloader” just to get the benefits you are due. Similarly why many Accor Plus benefits are not honoured at the property at their dinings venues. Penny pinching has always been the issue with the Sofitel Wentworth since I can remember, but I thought I’d give it another go. Nothing has changed. One can only surmise this isn’t Accor Group’s direction as manager but the private equity owners of the building seeking to extract every last dollar from their investment. Sydney has plenty of nicer hotels in better locations which provide good customer experience, including other Accor properties such as the Sofitel Darling Harbour. I won’t stay here again.

All about them,NOT the guest! Great if you don’t mind room not made up and being fobbed off. Excuses, excuses, very poor

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Staying for 3 nights but on our last day, couldn’t be bothered to make up our room. When I challenged this and after to and fro they deduced that we still had the not disturb sign at 3/4pm despite being here for the Lions and at another part of town at that time!!! We turned the sign around at about 11am as had done some shopping, but returned to leave this in the room. Fobbed off like we’d leave our room after housekeeping had finished at 3/4pm….hardly , we’re here for 3 days! However, Emma & Milly both said it was the first time it had happened like we should be grateful? Offered wine as a “goodwill” gesture which is meaningless if not wanted… It’s all about them and NOT the guest! Caveat Emptor!!!!
