Reviews for Grand Victoria Hotel

Stylish beautifully refurbished hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

I was not impressed by the facade, seemed a bit old fashioned but the interior changed my mind. Stylish large rooms. Found a bottle of argentinian red wine waiting for me in the room, with some sweets (maybe because I am a Hilton Honors Diamond member?). Art Deco styled room, with full bathroom. Nice outdoor pool (though a bit chilly 23 C) for the time of the year. At this hotel they still make up your bed in the evening. Complimentary soft drink bar in the room. There is a metro station close by, as well as a mall with shops and restaurants. Breakfast is a nice buffet (oriental and european food served). I did not have dinner at the restaurants, but they seemed quite posh.

Great luxury stay in Taipei

The staff are polite, helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious and clean and the bed was super comfy. There is a 7-11 and restaurants within walking distance and. Michelin star steakhouse onsite. Buffet breakfast was fresh, varied and delicious. Highly recommended.

Wonderful experience,

Our ten day stay at VR has been a wonderful experience thanks to the exceptional staff at La Festa. The breakfast my wife and I have had each day was so good that it had become our main meal of the day. Li Ching my wife being Taiwanese is more than happy with the wide Taiwanese selection of food and myself being English found the combination of western food and Taiwanese choices very tasty add to this the superb service of the whole team then we feel completely at home. The chef and waiting staff deserve an extra thanks for putting up with my English breakfast requests such as extra cutlery, crockery, tea pot and milk jug for my Breakfast tea, you provided me with everything I needed to make my breakfast even more enjoyable. Sometimes the chef would present a dish of the day which varied the selection even more. Chef Yan, sous-chef Mei, Ellan, and the young waiter who every time I put the bread in the toaster appeared with a warm plate for me, special thanks to them. A kinder, more friendly and efficient team I have rarely met on my travels. I have passed the above to the staff it relates to in writing. The reception desk could be more welcoming and a smile would brighten the day, having said this they are efficient. How about a little background music to improve the ambiance. Nathan at the bar went the extra mile and served us with super G&Ts, we rushed to get to the bar, 21.59 one minute before his closing time. The reception told us the bar was closed, wife said “let’s go for it”, thanks Nathan I had a hard day. No time to even visit the swimming pool due to work. Business centre very helpful and fast. Rooms spacious, excellent amenities, plenty of water and kept very clean. Hotel manger popped up all over the place keeping his eye on things I guess, nice chap. I thoroughly recommend this hotel in Taipei to any International travellers coming for work or for pleasure. We shall certainly be back. This is a great hotel from all angles, well run.

Taipei in style with a personal touch away from busy districts but easy to get there.

The Grand Victoria delivers a combined experience of friendly and personalized service along with sophisticated facilities, restaurants and amenities. This is a great location with a metro stop a block away and a wide array of restaurants and other services that are easy to walk to. We enjoyed hiking in the hills just a couple blocks from the Hotel. Very nice running along the river park space also nearby.

This was an amazing visit. We actually stayed twice in the same hotel for the beginning and end of our trip. Really great location and convenient. The hotel staff and concierge were very friendly and helpful. They gave great advice on how to best maximise the trip with the time we had.
