My wife & I stayed for a week at the Palais de Chine in Taipei in July 2026. Good experience and excellent location. Staff Tony Hu for example was enthusiastic and takes pride in his job. From Chua & Tay. Aug 2026

We spent five nights here on our trip to Taipei and in general our stay was very good; however the experience fell short of what we would normally expect from a five-star hotel. The hotel is in an excellent location as it is attached to the Q Square shopping mall and the main Taipei train station is just a short walk away. Our room was large and tastefully decorated, but unfortunately there was a musty odor to it, which should be unacceptable for a hotel at this price point. Additionally, the room's lighting system was confusing and we had to basically press all of the different switches to try to find the lighting pattern that we wanted. In general, the hotel is way too dimly lit. Even the lobby is so dark that it feels like nighttime no matter the time of day. The room temperature was also an issue. The room was freezing most of the time, and I tried to increase the temperature on the thermostat to 25 degrees, but it kept reverting to 23 or 24. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was large with a soaking tub that was separated from the shower. The shower's water pressure was good, but the maximum temperature should be hotter. I noticed that the water in the sink often got hotter than that in the shower. Another frustrating aspect of the room was the wardrobe. It was very large, which was great, but it had two sections with one sliding door. This makes it difficult for two people to utilize the different sides of the closet at the same time (i.e. if you are both getting dressed to go out.) The hotel staff were excellent. The door people were always very friendly and welcoming and the front desk staff were helpful, especially Jason, who reassured us of our safety during a minor earthquake that happened during our stay. Overall, our stay was very good, but I feel like the hotel needs to update its rooms with a more thoughtful design to truly reach the level of a five-star hotel.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional service consistently provided by the VIP lounge team at Palais de Chine. As a daily guest, I have had the pleasure of being attended to by Greta, Polly, Sarah, and Vanessa, each of whom demonstrates an outstanding level of professionalism, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality. Their service is impeccable in every respect — from the prompt and gracious offering of tea, to the attentive replenishment of wine, to the thoughtful provision of a fine selection of dried cold cuts upon request. Every visit is marked by a level of care and courtesy that reflects extremely well on the establishment as a whole. I would like to formally commend this team for their dedication and excellence, and I hope their contributions receive the recognition they so clearly deserve.

My stay at Palais de Chine Hotel was exceptional, and the outstanding service made all the difference. Mike Huang went above and beyond from the moment I checked in. He was warm, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. He helped arrange a full-day taxi tour to Yin Yang Sea, Golden Waterfall, Jiufen, and Shifen, making what could have been a stressful day of planning completely effortless. His recommendations were excellent, and his genuine kindness and willingness to help made me feel truly cared for. Mike is an exceptional human being and a wonderful ambassador for the hotel. I also want to thank Murphy for providing equally attentive and friendly service throughout my stay. Every interaction was welcoming, professional, and sincere. Palais de Chine is a beautiful hotel with outstanding hospitality. It’s the people who make it special, and Mike and Murphy are shining examples of world-class customer service. I would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Taipei.

We had an excellent experience at Palais de Chine hotel in Taipei. The location is excellent being right across the street from the main train station. The best part of the stay was the concierge staff, particularly Andy! He was so helpful along with being kind with a good sense of humour. Thank you for a lovely stay.
