About the Hotel

Conversational murmurs and tinkling piano rise through the atrium, shouts of laughter accenting the melody. Joy understood in any language. There’s a sense of intrigue here that is impossible to place, much like Taipei itself: a melting-pot metropolis infused with Chinese, Japanese and Western influences, where Taoist temples stand next to gleaming skyscrapers and hot springs steam the base of the Tatun volcano group, a mere 15 km. (9 miles) north of the city.

Lovely hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

We stayed at this hotel just for one night. We were in room 1116 which was very nice indeed. Very modern and well appointed. Our room was very large. Downstairs there was a large buffet area which had almost anything you wanted to eat. We only wanted a small meal so opted to eat near the bar and had a lovely seafood pizza whilst being entertained by a pianist and double bass player. Strange in a hotel this they could not provide a gin and tonic but we opted for a glass of wine which was very nice. Breakfast was OK, there was a lot of traditional food. Not too much for westerners but adequate. Would certainly stay again if the opportunity presented itself.

A Luxury Hotel That Keeps Me Coming Back

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

This was my second stay at Regent Taipei, and I returned because of the wonderful experience I had during my business trip in April. This time, I brought my family and booked two rooms through the American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts program, and once again the hotel exceeded our expectations. The location is excellent, situated in one of Taipei's most popular districts with luxury shopping, great restaurants, cafés, and attractions all within walking distance. The MRT is about a 10-minute walk, which some may find a little far, but the walk is easy and pleasant. The hotel has an elegant atmosphere surrounded by luxury brands while maintaining the timeless prestige Regent is known for. I especially appreciated that, despite the beautifully renovated rooms, the hotel still uses traditional room keys instead of key cards, preserving a touch of its history and character. Our rooms were spacious, beautifully renovated, spotless, and surprisingly quiet. Even the hallway noise was minimal, allowing us to enjoy a very restful stay. The service was truly exceptional. General Manager Simon Wu has clearly built an outstanding team. Sherry Ye provided prompt and thoughtful assistance before our arrival, while Yolanda Yu, Assistant Front Office Manager, took exceptional care in coordinating our family's stay and making my daughter Natalie's 19th birthday celebration truly memorable. Their professionalism, communication, and genuine hospitality made us feel sincerely welcomed. The amenities were another highlight. The breakfast buffet offered an excellent variety of high-quality Asian and Western dishes, the fitness center was well maintained, and the shopping, cafés, and bars within and around the hotel added to the overall experience. My wife and I also enjoyed a couples massage at the Regent Spa in their spacious treatment room with two massage beds. It was a relaxing and luxurious experience, making it one of the highlights of our stay. Regent Taipei is certainly not a budget hotel, but it is absolutely worth every dollar. After experiencing it for both business and family travel, I can confidently say it remains one of my favorite hotels in Taipei, and I look forward to returning again.

Not that regal

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Some similiarities with the Sheraton nearby - old, large, popular Apart from above, Regent houses a luxury mall As ambassador member, i didn’t get a nice upgrade. No amenities provided, but you can call for a toothbrush. Room lacks modern facilities like electric curtains. Tv remote no longer works well and neither is the toilet bowl Gym is inconvenient to get to. It’s another block, and that 1 elevator is always full. I waited 10 min for several to pass. And it’s old, small and stuffy in the basement Breakfast ok. It’s a large space and crowded

Disappointing Experience with a Front Desk Agent

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

One front desk staff member, Daniel, was unfortunately very slow and unfriendly. While most of the staff were warm, professional, and polite, our experience with him was disappointing. He initially charged us the wrong room rate, and when we pointed out the mistake, he did not apologize. Instead, he offered various explanations without acknowledging the error. The situation was handled poorly from start to finish, which felt well below the standard we would expect from a Regent property. Thankfully, the rest of the staff were pleasant and helpful, but this interaction left a negative impression on an otherwise enjoyable stay.

Amazing stay

I had a wonderful stay at Regent Taipei recently and was very impressed by the professionalism and hospitality of the team. As an IHG Platinum member, I especially appreciated the extra level of recognition and generosity shown during my visit. The staff consistently went above and beyond to make the experience memorable. I would also like to specifically thank 張先生 for his professionalism and consideration when assisting me with a later reservation.
