Cala Luna Boutique Hotel

If you enjoy a gorgeous natural setting, a stunning rugged coastline and lovely, spotless rooms set in a lush jungle with howler monkeys, then you’ll love Cala Luna. We certainly did. You can spend the day on the property and enjoy the pool or relax in the beautifully appointed outdoor lounge and then take a short walk to their beach. While their beach is too rugged to swim at, you can take 10 minute walk and be at Playa Tamarindo, and swim and soak up the sun. Or if you want to go into town, it’s an easy 15 minute walk or the hotel will easily arrange transportation. And a real highlight of our stay was the stellar staff—kind, attentive and helpful. Steven, Flor, Jose Mario, Karol and Christian each made our vacation so memorable. We cannot wait to return!

We loved our stay at Cala Luna. The three-bedroom villa was spacious and comfortable for our family, and having a private pool made it even more relaxing. The restaurant staff added such a personal touch—they remembered our orders each day! We also enjoyed the spa therapies. What stood out most was the feel of the resort. Cala Luna is lush, private, and full of Costa Rican charm. It was a wonderful place to slow down and enjoy time together.

Enjoyed our stay at Cala Luna! The hotel is small and quaint, a short walk from their private section of beach. Probably a 20 minute walk to town. The grounds are lush and beautiful and the pool area is really stunning. The rooms are unique and clean. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed several days at the pool. There are only a few loungers so you need to get to the pool early. There is plenty of seating that are not loungers, however. We also enjoyed all the wildlife! The monkeys are always around and the resort has 5 resident cats that are so sweet. We also saw lizards, raccoons, skunks and lots of birds. We only had dinner once, and it was good. We did not partake in any of the activities and spent most of our days lounging or in town. You can take a taxi to town if you need, they will call it for you.

Wonderful hotel with amazing staff. The grounds and rooms are beautiful. The website does not do it justice. 5 star experience. Carol, Johnny, Stephen, Chris and many others were exceptional.

I stayed in the villa and our experience was great. The staff was helpful, responsive, and patient. The restaurant was good, and the facilities were clean. The property is beautiful and has a great location. While there is beach access, the hotel is not a beachfront property. We loved our stay. I'd book again.
