After we decided to choose Bali as our preferred holiday destination the next challenge was to find the right location and then the perfect place for us to stay. Having searched and reviewed the many options, the Sakala Resort stood out amongst all the reviews, we had never seen so many 5 star ratings and having stayed there for 13 nights we can now see why, believe me when we say none of those reviews were misleading. From the moment we arrived we were treated magnificently by the staff, after a complimentary drink, Vina our host led us to our room, which was magnificent, the personalised greeting on the mirror was a special touch. The room was spacious with more space than we had ever seen in our many years of travelling, it certainly had the largest bed, I am sure that on occasion my wife and I were sleeping in different time zones :-) We had decided to upgrade to a swim up room which was just perfect for those days when you just wanted to chill, the pool was always warm, not too deep so is perfect for those not that comfortable with swimming. Singularly the best thing about this hotel, as has been mentioned in so many other reviews are the staff, every single person without exception was polite, friendly and charming and always greeted you with a smile, it was impressive to see how often all the staff remembered your name, they made it a special stay. It would be remiss of us to not mention some staff who stood out to us and for a variety of reasons, but believe us when we say that all the staff are wonderful. Special thanks (in no particular order) to: Komi - who ensured every single day that our eggs were perfect, no matter what option we choose and she always remembered our order, she was amazing and we will miss our morning chats with her. Dwi & Derry - who's warm and friendly greeting and chats made our stay at the beach bar very enjoyable. Bayu and Gung - who were impressive hosts for those occasions (and there were many) when we decided to take advantage of some of the evening food offers on the beach whilst watching the sun go down, it was an idyllic location and both made every effort to make sure we had a great experience. Rini - who always ensured at breakfast that she said good morning, checked on our plans for the day and was full of advice if we needed it, including helping us on our first day to find the best way to reception. Demmy - who has been mentioned in almost every review we have read, and its clear to understand why, always had a broad smile, was very welcoming and as customer experience manager ensured that nothing was too much trouble. Vini - another thank you for asking one morning if the hotel could take a picture of us (apparently its not that usual to have guests staying so long), we were happy to oblige and this was later presented to us as a keepsake, it will be one of our treasured memories. The hotel itself was impeccably clean, the housekeeping staff ensured our rooms were kept in tip top condition and with 2 AC units in the room it gave us the flexibility of controlling temperatures as much as we needed. Over the road was the Sakala Beach Club, where we did spend most of our time, the views are stunning, the beach is great, but as mentioned the water is not for swimming in, given the amount of water sports taking place, it was however interesting for us to watch from a distance those brave enough to take the air or speed about on jet skis. The infinity pool was great, there was never a problem in getting a sunbed, and the views to the beach and beyond were stunning (particularly in the early evening, before the sun had set) We had intended beforehand to necessarily eat in the hotel every night but the food was so good and so reasonably priced (for a 5 star hotel) that we ended up having all but 2 of our meals there, the presentation of the food was great, the taste exceptional and all backed up by an outstanding service team. Yes, its possible to find places where you might pay less for your food and drink but on the occasions we did choose somewhere else the overall experience was nothing compared to what was delivered by the Sakala team. Thank you Sakala for delivering what has been a fantastic experience, we will never forget the part you played in making our first visit to South East Asia such a special one. Kev & Linda

Amazing hospitality Clean and neat rooms with great facilities , delicious food. Mr Demmy Ms Tiur I want to recognize them for their hard work I have been here 5 times already and they still have the same beautiful smile and warm hospitality. Not to forget Mr Aditia, the bartender in the hotel pool, he is a very cheerful guy.

The best part of my stay is the rooms they provide. It's very cozy, clean and the facilities are 5 star. I got the best view room top floor which I like facing the pool side and everytime i open the curtains I see blue waters and calming green plantation that makes my day. The room are big and I have a balcony very clean and the bed is sooo comfortable to sleep. I will definitely book this hotel for my next trip. Not to forget the staff are very nice and friendly, they do thier best to make your stay very comfortable

Just leaving from our 5 night stay in the Sakala resort. We would definitely stay here again. The staff were super noce the food was lovely especially the pizza and the drink were amazing. The area is great, right next to the beach with lots of watersports available. We only used the pool on the beach aide of the hotel but the other pool loked really nice aswell. Also, the breakfast was great every morning. There was something to cater for everyones tastes. There are lota of shops and restuarant just a few minutes in a taxi away or a short walk. The Sai restaurant just across the road is very tasty. We had sushi and it eas delicious. We were 45 mins in a taxi to Seminyak if you fancy going there too. Demmy one of the hotel staff just couldn't do enough for us. All staff were just amazing.

We stayed 8 days but thanks God we also booked another accommodation at Menjangan island in the middle of the forrest 5m from the beach never met even 1 cockroaches... This hotel indeed nice looking but that's all... FULL OF GIGANT COCKROACHES EVERYWHERE! (or maybe just in our room) Staff friendly, food horrible other than breakfast cocktails also good, AC loud as a jet engine so can't sleep... Think twice...
