Grand Hotel San Pietro

A true five star experience of luxury. You can stay at the Four Seasons but stay here and experience true Sicilian hospitality. The rooms are large and every need is considered - even a hand steamer for those last minute wrinkles. We stayed in an executive suite - the view is spectacular all over but from the fifth floor it's unbelievably beautiful. The staff is not intrusive but available and helpful at all times. Whatsapp any request and you are aided efficiently and effectively. The hotel does not feel overcrowded - you can relax and get away without the crowds. The hotel shuttle takes you to high street Taormina hour on the hour or if necessary more often. The town is a reflection of an ancient civilisation of art and beauty. Really I can't think of a better place to stay. The actual photos of the hotel don't reflect the true grandeur and luxury.

From the moment we arrived at the hotel everyone was so welcoming, polite and friendly to us. The view from our room and the pool area , which has been recently fully refurbished was top draw and beyond our expectations. The breakfasts and restaurant staff couldn’t have been better, For those looking to visit Taormina ensure you book your stay at the San Pietro, you won’t be disappointed.

I recommend this hotel to everyone planning a trip to Taormina. The hotel is beautiful, quiet, comfortable, and clean. We stayed in an executive suite, and the view from the spacious balcony was breathtaking. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was well-appointed with a separate wet closet featuring a large shower. The lighting was subtle with motion-detector night lights in the bathroom, hallway, and closet. Electrical outlets near the desk made charging devices convenient. The staff was attentive and friendly, making us feel at home. They assisted us with tours and transfers and were always ready to take us to the city center and local restaurants. They responded instantly via WhatsApp whenever we reached out to them. Breakfast on the terrace, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, was delicious. We didn't want this experience to end and were sad to check out. We would return without hesitation.

We were due to go to the Grand Hotel San Pietro in July last year. First of all when we booked our room the hotel took twice the amount from our credit card ( €7548 extra ). We had a right pain actually getting them to repay us. They were totally unhelpful and basically said that we had booked two rooms instead of one. As this was a non refundable rate they didn’t want to repay us! The second €7548 was taken from our account a week after we had booked the room. We actually thought this was fraud, and our bank stated that this should not be done. Took ages to get them to repay us. Unfortunately i had a mini stroke the week before we were due to go and could not fly on doctors advice. On contacting the hotel they were totally unhelpful and when asked for a credit note or ascertaining whether we could move the dates, again they were totally unhelpful and didn’t even reply to our emails or telephone calls. They ( of course ) did not repay us or moved the dates. Awful. Another hotel we booked for the same stay could not do enough for us, immediately gave us a credit note ( even though this booking also was non refundable). We will be visiting this hotel ( Bastio Suites ) in May. We will stay well away from the Grand Hotel San Pietro. Terrible inhuman service.

Absolutely excellent hotel in every way. We think without doubt the best in Taormina having visited most. Fourth visit in August and more cracking every year. The delight of this real oasis is that the hotel is superbly run and has the best staff we have come across (photos below) out of the 23 hotels we have stayed in the last 12 months. Thank you one and all. Especially the boss, Nino and his boys, Gaby at the pool and everyone throughout the bars and restaurants particularly the really considerate breakfast team, reception and rooms team they are all first class Looking forward to next year Happy Christmas to you all
