Grand Hotel Timeo, A Belmond Hotel, Taormina

There are luxury hotels, and then there is Grand Hotel Timeo. My husband and I have traveled extensively, and we can genuinely say we have never experienced this level of hospitality anywhere. From the moment we arrived, the attention to detail was extraordinary. The staff seemed to anticipate what we needed before we even thought to ask. At the beach, someone actually came over and offered to clean our sunglasses. Our room was serviced and turned down impeccably, and when we put up the Do Not Disturb sign one afternoon, they even called simply to make sure everything was okay and that we hadn’t put it up by mistake. It sounds like such a small thing, but that level of attentiveness was present in absolutely everything. Our room was beautiful, and we were incredibly surprised to receive a complimentary upgrade to a much larger villa with a living room and two balconies. The amenities were unlike anything we’ve experienced at a hotel — beautiful skincare, face and body products, after-sun care, and even Christian Dior body oil. Everything felt thoughtful, generous and genuinely luxurious rather than simply expensive. My husband had a massage at the newly opened Dior Spa and said it was phenomenal. The gym is state-of-the-art, the pool is pristine and peaceful, and every meal we had was impeccable. The grounds themselves almost don’t look real. Every corner is immaculate and so beautiful it looks photoshopped. Having seamless access to the sister Belmond property and its private beach was another incredible touch. Transportation was effortless, taxis were always available, and somehow every detail of our stay was handled before we ever had to think about it. What impressed us most, though, was the service. True luxury isn’t just a beautiful property — it’s how you are made to feel while you’re there. Every single person we encountered was warm, gracious, attentive and genuinely seemed to care about making our stay exceptional. Nothing felt forced or transactional. We left genuinely asking ourselves how another hotel could ever top this experience. Grand Hotel Timeo has completely changed our standard for what a five-star hotel can be. An unforgettable stay and an effortless 10/10. We cannot wait to return.

From the moment I stepped out of the vehicle I felt line royalty , the property is stunning !!! Great location !! Beautiful beach st sister hotel at Villa St Andrea taken each day by complimentary shuttle , very convenient , they also offer complimentary boat tour , the food was excellent in all restaurants , the views from the timeo on top of the terrace were just breathtaking , but the most impressive thing of all was how friendly, accomadating the staff was , they just went above and beyond to make sure you had the best experience , to conclude I’d like to thank each and everyone one of them , we will definetily return next year ! The GHT is situated in one of the most beautiful sites in the world. Nestled just below the iconic ancient Greek theater with epic views of the sea and Mt Etna. The hotel itself is a historic property that has evolved over the years from a private residence to an exceptionally well staffed and well managed world class 5 star hotel. All our expectations during our stay were met above and beyond: food and beverage service, housekeeping, a world class guest experience/concierge team, a relaxing and expertly staffed pool and an overall warm and friendly vibe. Breakfast and dinners at the open air restaurant are magical. Drinks on the Terrace are a perfect spot to start of finish an evening. The Michelin rated Otto Geleng restaurant with wonderful food, wine, service, and a breathtaking view of the sea and Etna is a treat and not to be missed. Advance reservations for that are a must. There is a courtesy van that leaves every 30 minutes to the Villa St Andrea, a Belmond sister property on the beach where Timeo guests have full beach privileges with a nice terrace restaurant for lunch. There are two other fine dining restaurants, including Brizza with 16 small tables at the waters edge, for seaside dining. Taormina with the many shops, restaurants and sights is right at the doorstep of the Grand Hotel Timeo. A walk in the evenings through the center of town from the Porto Messina to the Porto Catania is a must. This place is magical and deserves to be on everyone’s Sicily list.

Absolutely beautiful property with stunning priceless views of Mount Etna. The San Don does have nicer rooms - but the overall experience here is far far better and that is what makes your holiday. We cannot state how impeccable the service is for a property of this size - personalised and genuine - intuitive - a rare thing that they anticipate your needs. . All staff from the most junior to managerial roles are excellent can hold a conversation etc. we stay quite frequently at Claridges and in some respects it reminds you of there - nothing is too much. Incredible food at the hotel and the sister property at the beach. My wife used the spa this year which is now permanent Dior fixture and it was incredible. Amazing massage - again rivalled the ones my wife has in claridges. Easy shuttle to the beach which is a massive bonus in Taormina. Rooms have beautiful views but are a tad older and require updating it but the beauty of the property, the food and the service make up for it. Albeit we recommend taking a more straightforward room category.

This place exceeded our expectations at every level! We have stayed at some of the best hotels in the world and this Belmond is top 5! The team makes you feel like family instantly and care so deeply about curating an experience tailored to your every need and want you didn't even realize you wanted. Will be back every year.
