Hotel Villa Ducale

This was the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. The staff were helpful and kind, with a real gift of making everything feel easy without making it feel rehearsed. The property itself is breathtaking. To your left you have the sea, with ships moving slowly in and out of view. Beneath you is the quiet part of town with it's serpentine streets. And to your right, Etna calmly looms over the whole scene. The setting, the people, and the feeling of being there all combine into something really special.

Villa Ducale offers breathtaking panoramic views over Taormina and Mount Etna that are hard to beat. The atmosphere is intimate and charming, with warm service that makes you feel at home.

Taormina was the final stop of our Italy trip – staying at this hotel for 4 nights totally made our happiness overflow! The stunning views and Taormina-style breakfast are a given, but the hotel team went above and beyond for first-time visitors like us. Santina at the front desk was absolutely amazing – she said, “It’s our responsibility to make you feel right at home.” The entire team was incredibly thoughtful, taking care of every detail to ensure our trip was smooth and enjoyable.

We stayed in one of the new rooms with out door hot tub (a cover to keep the heat in would be good) and a view over the infinity pool to the Taormina and the sea in one direction and Etna to the side. The room was very spacious with a long thin bathrooom on the rear and a lounge to the side. There is also a large veranda with easy access from the bedroom. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was good with great views over the bay. We ate one night in the restaurant but this was disappointing. Overall though we had a lovely stay.

What a perfect setting and gracious hosts. Our room offered a lovely balcony with lounges and a table. The view was outstanding and memorable. The staff helpful and attentive, always addressing us by name and offering to assist. Perfect setting and stay!
