La Plage Resort

The location is great for swimming Beach is crowded and not exclusive to the hotel. The rooms are tired and need some tlc. For a 5star rating, I would expect USB connectors, soundproof walls, the thin walls allowed us to hear next-door conversation into the night. Hot water stopped one morning. Had to ask several times for issues to be resolved By far the most active the staff became was when we left. They offered discounts and chasing calls when they realised we would not take a discounted rate to write a 5 star review If you want location above all else then shop around for offers for this place and don't expect too much!

This is NOT a 5* resort. Far, far from it. The view of the sea is delightful but that’s it. Poor, tired buildings, the rooms are adequate (allegedly we were upgraded) but we had a front door that wouldn’t lock properly, a loo that didn’t stop filling and trying to get any teabags for the room was impossible. Apparently they had run out 😳 The sea front is overcrowded with too many sunbeds crammed in. Lots of outside ‘beach club’ goers using the facilities too. The cocktails were the worst we’d ever had. They were sent back on tasting yet they still had the cheek to try and put them on the bill! Every other sea front hotel has a pontoon to allow guests to enter the sea safely rather than clambering across boulders and deep pebbles to access the water. The staff were mainly delightful but are desperately trying to avoid any bad reviews. The negative Booking.com review was removed within hours of us posting it and phone calls made to us offering a big discount at other hotels in the chain… avoid at all costs

You want a beach resort in Taormina, Italy with an incredible view, nice rooms, and a staff that makes you feel like family GO HERE! We came here on our honeymoon and Diego and Martina welcomed us at the front desk and immediately kicked off our trip with good vibes. They set us up with a much needed massage after all the flying and made us feel welcome and taken care for our whole stay. The food is great, the ambiance is relaxed, and it’s an easy walk to the cable car to get up to Taormina! Diego and Martina, thank you for making us feel at home and welcome!

We spent around $75 on food and drinks and wanted to take a few photos while we were there. We only took pictures for about 15 minutes, but the staff kept staring at us in an angry and uncomfortable way. They also told us we would be charged extra for taking pictures, which made the whole experience feel embarrassing and unwelcoming. Between the overpriced menu and the rude customer service, it ended up being a very disappointing experience.

Amazing day at the beach club, staff really looked after us and made us feel really welcome. Special mention to Irene who went above and beyond and really made our time at the beach club extra special, she was brilliant ❤️ Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to spend the day at Isola Bella
