Metropole Taormina Maison d'Hotes

September 12–15, 2025 | Room 309 The Hotel Metropole is undeniably elegant, ideally located, and staffed by friendly, courteous employees. Unfortunately, several serious issues prevented us from enjoying what should have been a luxurious stay. Non-functioning air conditioning Throughout our four-night stay, Room 309 remained at a constant 23.5 °C despite the A/C being set to the lowest temperature. We reported the issue daily and received repeated assurances were given that it would be fixed, yet nothing changed. On the third night we were offered only a small desk fan – unacceptable in a 5-star hotel charging an average of €570 per night. We slept poorly every night. Unhygienic breakfast experience The breakfast buffet was overrun with bees. Dozens were flying around, landing on food, and many were trapped inside the chafing dishes with the hot food. It was impossible to eat comfortably and raised serious hygiene concerns. Dangerously slippery pool The steps leading into the pool and the pool floor itself are extremely slippery. Several guests, including us, nearly fell. This is an unacceptable safety hazard for a luxury property. Finally, because we had prepaid the entire stay, front-desk staff informed us that “nothing could be done.” I subsequently emailed both the hotel and its parent company (hotelmetropole@bzarhotel.it) outlining the problems. They replied with an apology but offered no compensation or attempt to make things right. While the public areas and staff demeanor are lovely, these critical failures – combined with the complete lack of goodwill after the complaint – left our experience far below true 5-star standards. We hope management addresses these issues promptly so future guests are spared the same disappointment.

Incredible location, incredible views, incredible service especially Alessandro and the rest of the bar staff. Alessandro, always smiling and courteous, made our stay memorable!

The best restaurant in Taormina is Hotel Metropole Taormina Restaurant & Bar!!! It is a cosy place locates in an ancient building with the beautiful view on the sea. When you enter the lobby, you immediately feel the friendly, cosy atmosphere complemented by live music. First, we had cocktails as an aperitif and sat on the terrace enjoying the view, cocktails and everything around us. The cocktails were wonderful, beautifully presented, and the canapés were incredibly delicious and beautiful. Then we went to dinner at the restaurant located one floor below, but with the same stunning sea view. Sebastian helped us throughout the evening, both with the menu and presenting the dishes we chose. I am super impressed with both the dishes and their presentation. They were incredibly delicious. We also learned that a new menu and new dishes are developed every day, and these are not just meals, but works of art that are beautiful to look at and incredibly delicious. My pasta with mussels was amazing tasty, and the mussels were cleaned of their shells. Our dinner was complemented by delicious white wine. I also tried a dry orange wine, which was very tasty and unusual. Thank you to the team at the Metropol Hotel Taormina for their hospitality and a wonderful evening. You are the best!!! This is a place where you want to return again and again to enjoy the company, atmosphere and food.

Great location. Excellent view. Very attentive staff. Loved the terrace bar. The concierge was 10 on 10. A good place if you want to walk the streets and access the beach ( 5 minutes walk plus a cable car) Ambra was outstanding

This was a superb hotel located right in the heart of taormina. Stunning views from a beautiful terrace extremely relaxing . The infinity pool divine unfortunately advertised as an adults only hotel they allowed children in and along with some maintenance it wasn't perfect . I discussed this with the duty manager however and he totally understood my slight disappointment and compensated us for the inconvenience so all was well but just check before you book ! Room had a stunning view and was very clean with a super shower .
