Metropole Taormina Maison d'Hotes

We loved our stay at the Metropole. The room was beautiful, the location truly incomparable. You walk out the front door and you are right on the main walking street in town. Amazing. And the stunning water view from the terrace bar is mesmerizing. But what we loved most of all is that we happened to be there during the Taormina Film Festival with celebrities such as Michael Douglas coming and going from the hotel. Yet the hotel staff never ignored us and was responsive to any requests. And we were never inconvenienced. The professionalism of the staff, the beauty of the hotel, the ideal location - all make it a winning combination. Truly great.

The Metropole is a 5-star hotel with the kind of staff that makes you feel so at home. We chose it for its location but everything about our stay was spot on! Unnerved by the crazy roads, we called the hotel to ensure we were going the right way up the mountain. Santino guided us right to hotel parking where a staff person was waiting. Upon checkin we met Santino in person as well as Irene, who informed us they had upgraded us to a suite! The two were our touchstones at the desk throughout our stay - making dinner reservations, extending our parking time gratis so we could leave a bit later in the day, offering a welcome prosecco and farewell coffee on the gorgeous balcony overlooking the sea. We also met the delightful Maria, who works as a tour guide, free for Metropole guests. We didn’t have time to go on a tour with her but she gave us tips that helped us get the most out of our stay. The accommodations at the Metropole were outstanding, the service impecable and the hotel is just beautiful, We only wish we’d booked a 3rd night!

Stayed at this superb hotel as a prelude to a cruise. Would definitely stay again and tour sicily bit more. Great location for Taomina right in centre. Breakfast experience was great good choice in kind of conservatory with marvellous views. Was good meeting Maria local guide very good talking about various things to do and see. Was quite inspiring about mount Enta will include trip up mountain next time. Nice to have someone who clearly loves Taomina/Sicily helped make for a pleasant stay

Hotel Metropole has provided the best experience for us at this point in our lives. Of course Taormina itself is stunning but this hotel, its staff, its location, its elegance is what takes your Taormina experience to the next level. Right from the start, the warm greeting, attention to every detail, and genuine kindness was felt. The decor and comfort level made this unique hotel special. Maria the experiences coordinator was a true gem. She scheduled special events and invited all of the guests (only 27 rooms). We were able to join her for a canollo class, a mojito class, a walking tour and a talk about the beautiful Mt. Etna. The best part…this benefit was all included with our stay. The front desk team helped us arrange day trips, train trips, taxi pick ups, boat tours and dinner reservations. It was nice to sit back relax and truly enjoy Taormina. We will definitely return one day. And hope that everyone gets a chance to experience this incredible hotel.

We stayed at the Metropole during a trip with other families, and the hotel definitely added something special to our experience. The location is perfect, right on Corso Umberto — close to everything but still quiet, with breathtaking sea views. The hotel is stylish and well-maintained, with a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. The infinity pool overlooking the sea is a highlight — both relaxing and incredibly scenic. Breakfast on the terrace was another favorite moment: good quality food with an unbeatable view. Our room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. Some small details could be improved (e.g., the air conditioning was a bit noisy at times), but overall, comfort was high. The staff was friendly and helpful, always ready to assist without being intrusive. We recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a refined, central place to stay, with great views and a touch of luxury without going over the top. We’d happily return.
