Ultra-hip yet unassuming, Mas Passamaner is a captivating retreat in Spain's Catalonia region and according to the Hygge International Guide is one of the thirty best hotels of the world, as well as a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World. This modernist boutique hotel, built in the 1920s, is situated in La Selva del Camp south of Barcelona. Chic guest rooms and suites promise exquisite rest, while the hotel's signature La Gigantea restaurant pleases with the creative regional cuisine of Michelin-starred chef Joaquin Koerper. And youâ€(TM)ll find the relaxation divine at the resort's fabulously appointed spa, offering a complement of renewing treatments.

We booked here with high expectations and we're very disappointed. We had chosen a superior room with terrace, and when we arrived, we.were shown to a dull 80's decor tedious room. The terrace had the ambiance of a prison exercise yard, and was walled on all 3 sides with some ivy on the back one. Perhaps I'm wrong, but to me a terrace is something with a view. This certainly did not. As this was clearly heading for a depressing night, we asked to move. The receptionist said these rooms were popular with smokers! As a fervent antismoker this added insult to injury. We were then shown a suite which had a good terrace with a view and a decent bath, for which we paid extra. We were told breakfast in the room was no problem, and left the card on the door. We checked the following morning but the card had not been lifted. I got dressed and took it down. When the tray arrived, the toasties was a baguette and the coffee had been left off. There were other issues like the noisy air conditioning which dripped so badly we had to put a towel on the floor, a lack of information on mini bar prices and an arrogance rather than an apology on check out. This place is in need of a revamp and a rethink.

I booked this hotel with Wonderbox and during the pandemic they cancelled my reservation as they had to close. When the hotel was opened i tried to book again they told me i had to pay for +100 € for the reservation because they changed the agreement with Wonderbox.

We like this as a stopover on our drives between Spain and UK as it is off the beaten track and have enjoyed it previously. We felt they struggled this time due to the pandemic and it didn’t feel as fresh as before. The restaurant was still good but a lack of certain supplies and the the fact that there were so few customers made it very hard for them to keep their spirits up. I hope they come through the pandemic in good shape and we look forward to the next time. They deserve to do better.

It is a lovely old mansion, no arguments there, but a historic monument cannot make a great hotel if the services of the hotel are not properly executed. First of all it is very hard to find (I asked why they don't put signs on the roads as some other hotels do and was told they are not allowed to!)...Then there is the fact that the 100 year old building has not been updated properly, i.e. shoddy workmanship in the rooms, very noisy heating system... yes it can be turned into a 5 star establishment but definitely not the way it is being run. I stayed at Mas Boella last year, and it is far better than this one... at least there you have lovely rooms. In Passamaner, everything seems to be calling for updating and renovation.

A lovely quirky hotel. The rooms are very pleasant and well appointed & beds super comfy. The swimming pool & surrounding were clean and perfect for unwinding and enjoying the outside. The restaurant food just moorish. The octopus and black sausage paella delicious. I’m not sure how you would get here without a car though. Would recommend & would love to return!

This was our first venture into the world of Luxury Link and we are hooked. Mas Passamaner was extraordinary on all levels - I give it 5 stars. We had a suite, the spa was first class, and the restaurant rivaled 5 star restaurants in the US. The staff was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, but it is the unique nature of the property that holds you long after you have left. One of my favorite places in our travels.
