Virtually perfect in every way Huka Lodge was truly amazing. From the warm and relaxing welcome to the beautiful cabins, to the meals, to departure, everything was 5 star. The staff was warm, kind, attentive and professional to a person. Huka Lodge adjusts to your needs —-you’re not expected to adjust to them. In advance of one’s visit you’re asked about food preferences and Huka Lodge takes this seriously. Each day the menus are created to meet guests’ needs. The food was delicious, but the restaurant staff made each morning and evening extra special. A special thank you to Dorian who is just beginning his hospitality career but is already top notch. Also worthy of note is the spa. We have facials/massages at most of the resorts/lodges we visit. My facial was truly the best I have ever had and my partner’s massage was amazing. Special thanks to Alycia and Joanna. Kerry Molloy is the general manager and he clearly has devoted time to energy to creating a great team of dedicated professionals. Reception is always there to assist with transportation as needed, answer any and all questions and are just overall gracious and helpful. Special thanks to Wendy and Claire who first greeted us so warmly and made Huka feel like our home for our 4-night stay. Our only disappointment was the lake cruise. As beautiful as the lake is, and as wonderful and knowledgeable as the crew was, it’s not worth the money or the time. The boat was not only old and anything but luxurious, but there just isn’t much to see or do unless one enjoys fishing. Don’t expect the “lavish buffet”, either. Interestingly, we were at Huka a couple of decades ago but left because the entire place felt run down and unwelcoming. That is definitely not the case now. If you can make your way down to Taupo, Huka Lodge is a must.

Incredible lodge. One of the best cared for hotels. We visited for honeymoon and everything was extremely well run, kept, an the staff were superb. Food was exquisite as well. Great activities such as fly fishing. The rooms were luxurious and had great views of the Waikato. Very close to Huka falls. The staff is the differentiator as they cut no corners and always go the extra step.

One of the nicest places that we have stayed at. Classy, top-notch service with excellent staff, accommodations, and meals. I can't think of anything that can be improved. I would highly recommend staying at this beautiful property. It is like a postcard come to life. You will not be disappointed.

From the moment we were greeted on arrival to when we checked out two days later we had a remarkably great experience. All of the staff were so friendly and competent, the food was really good, the ambience of the place amazing and the accommodation first class and just right for the environment in which it is situated. The manager and guest relations also went way beyond expectations to help us with a predicament. We had left some clothes for a wedding we were to attend at our previous nights accomodation and they arranged for its collection and return to our room effectively overnight saving us a four hour return journey to get it. Thankyou so much to the whole team.

Absolutely fantastic and the nicest place I have ever stayed. Highly recommend book one of the two cottages. The recent renovation is truly amazing. No detail has been over looked from the staff, to the accommodation, to the amazing food. You must stay here. I will return.
