The Luxury of Genuine Hospitality

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

For many days in Tbilisi, the Paragraph Hotel became our home. As one of the city’s newest luxury hotels, overlooking Liberty Square, it provided an excellent base from which to explore the Georgian capital. Its location could hardly have been better. Many of Tbilisi’s principal attractions were within easy walking distance, while the surrounding streets were lined with cafés, restaurants, and the vibrant atmosphere that makes the city so enjoyable to explore. Being a large hotel, it does involve a fair amount of walking, but this is a small price to pay for the generous public spaces and excellent facilities. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was courteous and efficient. Check-in was handled quickly and professionally, and when I casually mentioned that I had returned to Georgia primarily for its wonderful wines, the receptionist smiled, disappeared briefly, and returned with a complimentary bottle of Georgian wine. It was an unexpected gesture that immediately set the tone for our stay. We opened it that very evening, and it proved to be every bit as enjoyable as promised. Our one-bedroom suite was spacious, contemporary, and thoughtfully designed. The bedroom was particularly impressive, with one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The mattress was firm without being hard, and the pillows were so soft that I looked forward to them at the end of each day. The living room was equally comfortable, with a large sectional sofa that was ideal for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The suite was, however, rather sparsely furnished for a longer stay, particularly as we both needed to work. We requested two desks, additional chairs, and a table, and everything arrived remarkably quickly. Breakfast became one of the highlights of each day. The quality of the food was consistently excellent, and every section of the buffet was replenished promptly throughout the morning. There was an impressive selection of traditional Georgian dishes together with an outstanding assortment of local cheeses, providing a wonderful introduction to the country’s dairy traditions. The bakery section was equally impressive, producing some of the finest sourdough bread we enjoyed during our stay, alongside excellent croissants and Danish pastries. Fresh fruit featured prominently every morning, with beautifully sweet strawberries, cherries, blackberries, ruby-red grapefruit, and perfectly ripe melons making breakfast a pleasure in themselves. The breakfast team deserves special recognition. Ana, Tako, Gigi, Tini, Tamara, and Pikiria were consistently attentive, efficient, and genuinely pleasant, making each morning a pleasure. Ana at the bar was equally welcoming, while the concierge team was knowledgeable and always willing to assist with recommendations and arrangements. The front office staff handled every request promptly and professionally, and although many members of the housekeeping team spoke very little English, they were exceptionally efficient and maintained the suite to an impeccable standard. One of the unexpected pleasures of our stay was the hotel’s food and beverage offering. The elegant Library Lounge became one of our favorite places to relax with a coffee or a glass of Georgian wine. We also spent many enjoyable evenings at Ostigan Restaurant, where we dined on several occasions and participated in wine tastings led by an extremely knowledgeable sommelier. Sampling semi-sweet rosé, dry red, and semi-sweet red wines accompanied by local cheeses provided an excellent introduction to Georgia’s remarkable winemaking traditions. The restaurant’s private dining room also proved ideal for one of our larger family gatherings. Every new hotel experiences a period of adjustment, and Paragraph Hotel is no exception. During our stay we encountered two maintenance issues. For three days there was no hot water, and there were recurring problems with the air conditioning in one of our rooms. Naturally, these were disappointing, but what impressed us most was the manner in which they were handled. Miro Dincic, the General Manager, was responsive, attentive, and genuinely proactive. Rather than simply acknowledging our concerns, he took personal responsibility for resolving them and went out of his way to ensure that our stay remained as comfortable as possible. His visible presence around the hotel and his willingness to engage with guests reflected a style of management that was both hands-on and guest-focused. While the technical issues undoubtedly detracted from our stay, the professionalism with which they were addressed left an equally lasting impression. Looking back on our stay, it is the professionalism of the staff, the comfort of the accommodation, the outstanding breakfasts, and the genuine hospitality that remain foremost in our memories. Every new hotel requires time to settle into its stride, and Paragraph Hotel is clearly well on its way. A few operational issues remain to be ironed out, but they never overshadowed the quality of the accommodation, the excellence of the food, or the professionalism of the people who looked after us. We left with the feeling that this is a hotel with enormous potential, led by a proactive management team. On our next visit to Tbilisi, we would have no hesitation in staying there again.

Luxury experience in the center of Tbilisi

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Why I would recommend this hotel: A fully-fledged luxury experience with excellent service and strong facilities Paragraph Freedom Square is a genuine luxury hotel in the heart of Tbilisi. Everything is delivered at a high level, from arrival to departure, with strong attention to detail and consistently friendly service. Check-in Arrival was very welcoming with staff already greeting guests at the entrance and assisting with luggage. Bags were taken immediately and delivered to the room. The receptionist was extremely friendly and invited me to sit comfortably during the process. My Bonvoy status was recognised and I was granted access to the Library Lounge, which was a nice added benefit. Facilities The hotel offers everything expected from a luxury property. The spa is well maintained and features excellent views over the city, while the gym is also very well equipped and enjoys a similar outlook. During my stay both areas were quite busy with hotel guests and external visitors, which made the atmosphere at times feel slightly crowded. The spa staff were particularly friendly and took the time to personally introduce the facilities, including the different saunas and pools, which was a nice touch. Library Lounge The Library Lounge is a beautiful and quiet retreat with a great view. During the day the offering is fairly limited, but the cocktail hour stands out with excellent drinks, well-prepared snacks and a very good wine selection. It is definitely worth visiting in the evening. Room The room fully meets expectations for a modern luxury property. Furniture and fittings are in excellent condition and the bathroom is spacious with a full range of amenities including items such as mouthwash and a toothbrush as well as high-quality toiletries. The bed was very comfortable and ensured a good night’s sleep. Housekeeping was excellent and the daily turndown service included small sweet surprises and thoughtful storytelling elements, which added a very personal touch. The only minor downside was that the view was not particularly remarkable and interaction in English with some staff members slightly tricky. Breakfast Breakfast is outstanding with a wide selection of both international and local products. After such a breakfast there is no need for lunch. The offering includes fresh juices, fruit, vegetables, salads, breads, fish, meat, hot dishes and desserts. The egg station is cleverly organised to avoid queues, which makes the experience smooth even during busy times. Restaurant Service in the restaurant was very friendly. Most dishes were enjoyable, although a few were more average compared to the overall high standard of the hotel. Overall For Georgia this is clearly a top luxury hotel and also relatively expensive by local standards. From an international perspective, however, the pricing remains fair, which results in a very international guest mix. Overall, it delivers a strong luxury experience with excellent service and facilities.

Nice hotel in Tbilisi. I can recommend.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

The hotel is amazing by itself. Thanks team for the amazing upgrade, the room was fantastic and specious. Food quality was amazing. Overall experience was really nice except some issues I had faced: 1. The sofa in the room was dirty so the hotel changed the sofa 2. The light in sauna don’t work, they fixed it. 3. There was a fridge with some stuff at the corridor, they removed it. The hotel had some issues but the team immediately reacted and did their best. Thanks for that so much. It means a lot. This is real hospitality. I would like to recommend the management to teach employees and pay more attention to the service. Unfortunately it’s not the level as it’s supposed to be at luxury collection. Most employees are not friendly, they don’t smile, they don’t meet you with greetings, they don’t pay attention to your needs. I am sure you definitely need to pay attention to it. The most issue of the hotel is service. The rest is great: great hotel, great design, great facilities, great location. Just make service better and check the cleanliness of the furniture inside the room. Besides I would like to say huge thank to concierge team, they are so nice, helpful and friendly. Also I would like to say that one employee, a waiter, at the restaurant where I had lunch 2 times was absolutely incredible. His service was superb. He is the only waiter who is well trained and know what service is. Unfortunately I don’t remember his name.

Best Hotel in Georgia and Likely the Entire Region

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

I’m confident that this is one of the best, if not the best, hotels in the entire Caucuses region, and a welcome addition to the Marriott Luxury Collection. The hotel is full of cutting edge technology and amenities and is right in the middle of Tbilisi’s charming and historic old town. But as much as the wonderful facilities, indoor and outdoor pools, saunas, gym, and restaurants all earn high praise, it’s the staff who make this hotel world class. They are kind, courteous, and most importantly, extraordinarily helpful. They have daily free wine tastings for all their guests (not just elite members), where the skilled sommelier takes the time to educate guests on various Georgian wines, as wine is a very important part of Georgian cultures. And the extraordinarily skilled concierges offer biweekly free walking tours of downtown, including a behind the scenes tour of the Tbilisi Opera House. That was a fantastic experience. And to top it off, he even secured a ticket to sold our ballet performance as a guest of the hotel. Everything about this hotel is world class.

Great location right on Freedom Square, everything is within walking distance. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, and the spa area is excellent. Staff were professional and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, one of the best luxury options in Tbilisi. It’s a place I would gladly return to.
