We had 5 nights at the Paragraph Freedom hotel in May / June this year and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is new so everything is pretty much in pristine condition with a very modern feel (so will feel the hotel lacks character) and has many large spaces (the corridors on each floor are very spacious which was great). We stayed in a deluxe room (517) which has a large bed, fantastic shower, large bath (with views across the city if that's your thing), TV, mini bar and tea / coffee making facilities - water is provided free of charge. The only downside was that our air conditioning didn't seem to work - lots of air being expelled but none of it cold .... we did make the hotel aware but it still wasn't fixed during our stay. Breakfast at the hotel was great - lots of choice with eggs, waffles, pancakes cooked to order and brought to your table. The breakfast room is again very spacious with the buffet well spread out so there weren't any congested areas or having to wait to get to the bread, cereal etc. Service throughout the hotel was very good with all the staff willing to engage / chat and always on hand to help. There are lots (and lots) of waiters / waitresses at breakfast and they could be a little over enthusiastic !! There were occasions when we had gone to the buffet to get something only to return to find our table cleared .... we ended up going individually with the other protecting our plates and cups ! We also arrived very early due to flight times and whilst our room wasn't ready (and nor did we expect it to be) the team allowed us to us the Executive Lounge (the Library) to chill out and enjoy some drinks / nibbles whilst we waited - our room did become available early as well at c11am which was great. The hotel is in a fantastic location - it's right on Freedom Square, a 5 min walk from the 'Old' town and lots of very good restaurants and 10mins from the Bridge of Peace. We didn't have dinner in the hotel as we wanted to eat out - we can recommend Otsy (fantastic), Restaurant Littera (very good) and Van Goghi (good). Overall a great stay at the Paragraph Freedom Square hotel and we would be happy to return.

Since its grand opening in November 2023, The Paragraph Freedom Square has redefined Tbilisi’s luxury hotel landscape. As Marriott’s first and only Luxury Collection property in Georgia, the hotel occupies a striking glass-clad building on the city’s historic Freedom Square. Designed by HAT Design Paris, its architecture elegantly mirrors the capital’s heritage, while the interiors incorporate bold textures and chokha-inspired motifs—an aesthetic homage to Georgian identity. The hotel features 151 rooms and 69 suites, ranging from 33 to 131 square meters. I stayed in a Premium Suite, spanning over 75 square meters, which offered a separate living room, wine fridge, coffee and tea-making facilities, and a spacious bedroom with thoughtful comforts. A welcoming gesture of Georgian red wine and apples added a personal touch. The suite’s bathroom was a highlight, with marble surfaces, a freestanding bathtub with an integrated TV, and Byredo amenities. Evening turndown service with pralines and a bedtime story offered a whimsical signature element. Breakfast is served buffet-style, complemented by à la carte offerings such as Eggs Benedict and fresh waffles. The variety - ranging from local specialties to international fare—is commendable. While service was friendly, staff during peak hours appeared overwhelmed, and attentiveness—particularly from porters and the breakfast team - did not always meet the expectations set by the Luxury Collection standard. Dining at Ostigan, the hotel’s fine-dining venue led by Michelin-starred Chef Stéphane Gortina, was a clear highlight. The ambience channels old-world European glamour, and the menu - crafted with seasonal Georgian ingredients - delivered across the board. Standouts included a delicately prepared beef tenderloin and a reimagined mille-feuille. However, lengthy wait times between courses suggested opportunities for refinement in pacing. The executive lounge “Library”, reserved for suite guests, provided panoramic city views and a curated array of wines, pastries, and hors d’oeuvres. The Paragraph Spa, spread across three levels, impressed with its range of thermal experiences, outdoor and indoor pools, and a panoramic sauna. However, inconsistencies in spa cleanliness and maintenance momentarily detracted from the otherwise ambitious wellness offering. The Eary Rooftop Terrace & Bar, perched atop the hotel, delivers on atmosphere: verdant surroundings, live DJ sets, and expertly mixed cocktails beneath the Tbilisi sky. In conclusion, The Paragraph Freedom Square is currently the most distinguished luxury hotel in Tbilisi. Its architecture, dining, and location at the gateway to the Old Town set a new benchmark for the city. Yet, inconsistencies in service attentiveness and operational polish signal that this flagship still has room to grow into the full promise of a Luxury Collection icon.

Paragraph is a new hotel having only been opened a year in the centre of the city. We stayed for 5 nights in June. Pros - the interior design is incredible; - bedroom was a good size with excellent layout and great views of Freedom Square; - hotel is in a very convenient location for sight seeing; - spa is the best I have ever seen! Numerous saunas, steam rooms, chill room, huge inside pool with incredible views and a great gym; - breakfast was very good and service was excellent; - ground floor cafe / bar had an amazing display of cakes. Cons - flight times from uk aren’t great so we had to pay for an early check-in on day of arrival (but this was very reasonable after a discussion); - the hotel has no outside area on ground floor in the sun - it’s completely shaded; - the outside sunbeds and pool lose the sun after 2pm apart from 1 or 2 beds (which get another hour at best). Residents of the spa put towels on the beds in the sun early on and then vanish for hours inside! - there is no outside pool bar and limited service - there is an outside smoking area next to the sun beds which isn’t pleasant for non smokers - the outside pool is heated which isn’t ideal in 30 degree heat when you want to cool down. - the rooftop bar doesn’t open till 6pm so no ability to have an afternoon drink in the sun - the rooftop bar is exposed to elements and on 2 nights it was very windy so not pleasant to sit outside. The other inside bar was closed for summer. We actually ended up going to the Radisson hotel on a day pass for some sun which had a great bar and excellent vibes with plenty of sunbeds in the sun!) In summary, we would definitely stay at the Paragraph again albeit only in the winter.

I recently stayed at Paragraph Freedom Square and had an unforgettable experience, all thanks to the amazing manager, Lulu. She was truly the heart of my visit, going above and beyond in every possible way. Not only is she incredibly professional and kind, but she also made it her mission to ensure I felt fully cared for during my stay. When I arrived, I noticed that the room was extremely hot, but Lulu handled the issue immediately and efficiently, making sure I was comfortable as soon as possible. Her quick response and dedication were truly impressive. The room itself was beautiful, the view was amazing, and the rest of the hotel staff were just as friendly and helpful. But it was Lulu who truly made my stay memorable. I’m definitely planning to return — and I’ll be looking forward to receiving her outstanding assistance once again.

The Paragraph Hotel is a tranquil refuge amidst a busy cacophony of sounds, movement, and a sea of humanity. Once you are filled with tours, walking, museums, shops, parks, and have no more room for a single khinkali, a step inside the hotel offers immediate shelter and a feeling of being welcomed home. The atmosphere is immaculately clean, fresh, eclectic, and soothing to the senses. The staff are amazingly attentive and seem to sense your needs even before you are aware of them. They have all been exceptional, but Ani, in particular, has made our stay overtly warm and pleasant. Without exception, every staff member has a smile on their face, and at least four people have continually greeted me using my name. The rooms are well appointed, upscale modern, sizable though cozy, and very comfortable. The food is exceptional in general, and the house pastries are without equal. Do not miss the breakfast buffet with every conceivable offering and an open central chef station making anything you dream up including the best French toast we can remember. Overall, this has been one of our best and most memorable hotel experiences. The location is central to the cities main visitor attractions and only a few meters from the metro station. Based on our 7 night stay in April of 2025, I fully endorse and recommend both the property and guest services.
