Cucu Hotel

A disappointing stay. The welcome at check-in was underwhelming. I was first given a room that had not been cleaned and did not match my booking, even though I had paid extra for a balcony. I had to go back down to reception to get another key card. The TV in the next room did not work. I was told a technician would come in an hour and a half, so I asked to change rooms. After the move, the Smart TV would not connect to my phone. The lamps were very dusty, there were bird droppings all over the balcony. To make matters worse, at around 11 p.m., two dogs left alone in the room next door barked continuously for 20–30 minutes while the hotel tried to contact their owners. This many problems in one stay is unacceptable.

We arrived at around 22:00 and we were given a room with a faulty balcony door that can't close properly (the room was on a lower floor facing the noisy street). After noticing that, we immediately chose to change hotels and the hotel refused to refund us for the stay. I requested a refund through booking.com and the hotel is still holding our money without any reason for over 3 months!

We had a reservation here in January. When we arrived, we were met with a door that didn’t shut. Hotel staff were unable to fix the door or change our room. The receptionist said we could cancel our booking and get a refund so we moved to a different hotel (Hotel Meyer). The next day, the manager completely denied everything that had been promised and refused to refund us, despite not having provided the service. They then gave false information to booking.com when we raised a complaint. Avoid at all costs.

Brilliant as usual. Have stayed in this well run and centrally located small hotel before and standards good. Hot drinks available 24x7 and very comfortable.

The rooms are on the smaller side and the balcony as well and the view from the balcony is just onto another wall. The hotel room was clean but reminded me more of a hostel due to the decoration. The location is perfect and hotel staff was friendly. The breakfast was good but on the last day the receptionist put us on the smallest table next to the toilet, I asked to sit on another table but she said it is booked for a bigger group, turned out it was for 2 people only and we also booked the restaurant in advance for our breakfast. There were other tables not occupied so not sure why we got this terrible table. This would be a reason of not staying in this hotel again.
