BEAUTIFUL hotel and property. This resort could not be better placed in Telluride. The views, the activities and the restaurants are top notch. The staff is friendly and they go out of their way to help you. We have traveled to this Fairmont 5 times and can’t wait to come back.

"Dated" is an interesting word that might mean different things to different people. But to the frequent traveler it simply means - "old" and "worn out". Such is the place that the once staple of Telluride Mountain Village hotels - The Fairmont Franz Klammer - finds itself in 2025. While it's had plans for renovations for some years, none have come to fruition. Meanwhile, the thin doors - which loudly trumpet the many children running down the halls - and worn decor and musty and mildew smells just keep reminding you that this place is in desperate need of a face lift if not total and complete tear down. That's not to say that its location and proximity to amazing skiing isn't the best in Telluride. It is. Also, the staff and management seem to be trying their best to make good out of a difficult, if not, insurmoutable situation. With the Madeline next door under constant renovation while consistently raising prices and the new Four Seasons on the way - the Franz hasn't much more time to waste...

Outstanding service and the best location on the mountain. Close to lifts, gondolas, shopping and restaurants. We have stayed here in all seasons for over 20 years. The most friendly and helpful staff anywhere. We have stayed at Fairmont resorts and hotels in Asia and Pacific and this is the best.

My best friend and I had been planning a friend trip for the longest time. We decided to jump on it and plan a trip to Mountain Village/Telluride. We are so thankful we decided on Franz Klammer Lodge as it had amazing views, best hospitality, and an even better location. This lodge is right in the middle of Mountain Village, super close to the shops and even closer to the FREE gondola to either Telluride or the market. The condo itself was more than we could have hoped for. From the views of the mountains on the balcony, to the stars shining so bright from the 5th floor hot tub, I have never been so in awe of Colorado. Everything was fully stocked - kitchen, bathrooms, laundry, and even the rooms! We were thrilled to find humidifiers and fans were provided. Also - the shampoo and lotion smells AMAZING. Highly recommend and already planning when I can take my husband.

While the location is ideal, we won’t be returning to this property. First off — there is no AC, and we didn’t realize this until we arrived for our mid July stay and we’re hit with a wall of heat in the rooms. Normally this wouldn’t be a big deal, but there was NO air flow at all, so even when the temps got cool at night, there was very little we could do to cool it down, even with the very noisy swamp cooler unit they gave us and windows open. There are not even ceiling fans, and the fan they gave us was a loud, old rickety oscillating fan. When we asked for a different one, we were told they’d look, but they didn’t think they’d have one. We never heard back from them. To add insult to injury, there was a ridiculously loud garbage dumpster dragged aggressively across the cobblestone each and every morning prior to 7am… This continued multiple times for at least an hour. It was truly an awful way to be woken up every day since all the windows had to be open to try to get a decent night’s sleep. The rooms and bathrooms are dated but clean. The king bed was two twins pushed together, which you could definitely feel. The pool is nice but is a fishbowl. You are surrounded by suites, including some RIGHT next to the pool so that you could hear them listening to the TV right next to you while sitting in the hot tub. This is really not your typical Fairmont experience. Be prepared.
