Madeline is a fantastic place to relax and enjoy everything Telluride has to offer. The roof top pool has amazing views in every direction. It's close to restaurants, the gondolas, etc. and has great walkability into town. We got to enjoy events around Mountain Village including a movie night and the evening concert series. It's been consistent and very pleasant on multiple visits.

We travel frequently and seek out 5-star properties and luxury hotels, so we rely heavily on TripAdvisor reviews — and wanted to share ours to pay it forward. The Madeline offers a beautiful location and an overall nice stay, but in our opinion, it fell short of the level of service, attention to detail, and warmth you expect from a property in this price range. It wasn’t one big issue, but rather a series of “small” misses that high-end hotels typically get right. For example, the pre-arrival intake form from the concierge asked about special requests — we asked for extra pillows, but none were in our room upon arrival. We also requested turndown service no later than 8 p.m., but on our second night, the attendant arrived at 9 p.m., after we had already settled in for the evening. It was also not made clear during booking that the residence room we reserved would be in a separate building from the main hotel. The walk isn’t far, but the setup feels more like a condo building than a hotel (because it is). For us, that added to a sense of distance from the staff and the property’s amenities — something worth considering depending on your preferences. The main on-site restaurant was another disappointment — limited menu options and dishes lacking in flavor made it one of the least memorable meals we’ve had in our travels. The spa was also underwhelming for the price. We arrived early hoping to relax, but were shown to a small, crowded lounge, never offered a robe or changing area, and learned the sauna was located separately outside by the pool rather than within the spa itself. If you are a looking for a true, high end spa experience, this is not it. While we enjoyed Telluride and will absolutely return, we’ll likely try a different property next time in hopes of finding the level of hospitality and refinement we expect from a luxury stay.

My wife and I have stayed twice now at this property and have had excellent experiences both times. The location is awesome for hiking and biking. It's a quick free trip on the Gondola to get into town for additional options. The staff is extremely helpful, and the accommodations feel like you're at home versus in a hotel. We brought our 130lb Great Dane the second time and he was treated like royalty by the staff and the other guests. This was a huge bonus for us when our dog sitter had to cancel at the last minute. We look forward to our next trip to the Madeline.

The hotel and staff are top notify. Room was spacious and clean. WiFi was almost unusable. If you are traveling for work or need to work from your hotel room on vacation, be cautious about staying here. Staff acknowledged the issue but was unable to provide any solution.

Incredible stay for our friends wedding. It was incredibly relaxing and amenities were premium. Hotel restaurant Black Iron had the best food in the village and room service was great. We stored our bikes with Valet and they were great with assistance when getting out or putting away.
