Macy was incredible to my wife and I. Thank you Macy for making our stay unforgettable. You definitely helped salvage our experience at Carter Estates.

We went here on our “mini moon”. We are planning a big trip next year and this was local for us. We had been here before and had an amazing time celebrating my birthday. We decided to come back for this trip but didn’t receive the same attention. Check in felt cold and not welcoming. Almost like we were interrupting conversation. We were not asked about celebration, given guidance to plans or activities available at the resort. Nothing like the first time we stayed.

We were 2 couples who had both booked deluxe king villas . We were pleasantly surprised on check in to be given a bottle of wine which tasted delicious. The room was spacious with nice seating area both inside & in the little courtyard garden . As we opened the door to the courtyard we noticed the curtain track was detached from the wall - we reported it to the room cleaner who just happened to come by with a towel she said she hadn’t placed in the room when she cleaned it but nothing further was done about the rail. We used the pool & hot tub - it was a nice temperature - unfortunately our room key got deactivated when we tapped it at the pool entry gate - this happened twice which was a little inconvenient as we had to go to the lobby to get a new key! We ate in the Rose restaurant where thanks to Michael my 2 vegetarian friends were able to order vegetarian linguine. The “vegetarian” bolognaise on the menu had fake meat - a bizarre choice of ingredient for vegetarians! Thankfully Michael used his imagination and got the chef to create a linguine dish with real vegetables and it was delicious. He was also very friendly & attentive and we enjoyed the dining experience. The vineyard is very beautiful and we wished we’d stayed longer than our 1 night.

We had an enjoyable one night stay here. The thing that elevated the experience was Mike, our server in the restaurant at dinner. The only vegetarian option was a bolognese made with Beyond Meat. We didn’t want this. Together with Mike we came up with a linguine with sautéed mushrooms, asparagus and summer squash in an Alfredo sauce with chilli flakes. This proved to be a delicious dish. When will restaurants learn that vegetarians generally don’t want to have highly processed meat substitutes. Thanks Mike for excellent suggestions.

What a great trip! This hotel is right in the middle of SoCal wine country - a perfect location. The villas are so nice, and perfect for a relaxing, low-key weekend getaway. The food was excellent and the spa was so nice, and very accommodating. And then there is the wine - surprisingly good! Altogether a great long weekend.
