Romance at every turn!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Holy Smokes!!! You have to save up some money and go here! Our son won a two-night stay in a "work raffle" and gave to us for our 29th wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived, we were in luxury. We've done Napa trips a couple of times. South Coast Winery was absolute luxury. On arrival, we had full access to the amenities even before we checked in to our room. The property is beautiful and sets the tone for a romantic stay. The location is so convenient for Southern Californians. The Atmosphere is pure romance. The rooms with double-doors that open up to the vineyards are truly incredible. We were talking about financing a Europe trip for our 30th. Maybe not now!!! We would go back to South Coast Winery in a heartbeat!

Spacious rooms, beautiful vineyard views, delicious food/wine program, sweet staff

We loved our stay! From the spacious rooms/villas overlooking the gorgeous vineyard, hot air balloons every morning, delicious vineyard rose restaurant breakfast, spa, amenities, sweet staff, and daily service. We were so happy and can't thank you enough for accommodating a comfortable crib and bath tub for our daughter! Means the world. Hope to be back again!

Could Be Fabulous w/a Little Extra Care

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

The property is beautiful and the grounds are exceptionally kept. The villas situated amidst the vineyards …. Spectacular! Christian at the wine tasting room…. Incredible! Would definitely visit him again. There are a few reasons I didn’t provide higher scores or would return for an overnight stay. 1) The villa is outdated and looks and feels tired. Could use some renovations. 2) They were supposed to have wine, charcuterie and chocolate covered strawberries in the room upon arrival. I called an hour prior to let them know we’d be arriving. It wasn’t there. And then they brought it 30 min after we arrived. The timing was awful, because we wanted to nap. The presentation—- even worse! They were in 3 plastic to-go containers with all the meats and cheeses piled on top of each other and the honey at the bottom leaving the pecans, cheese, meats and grapes drenched in honey . Taking into consideration it was our wedding anniversary, some care would have been appreciated. Moreover, if you’re going to bring it 30 min after arrival, how about some real plates and a cart? Quite disappointing. 3) We brought our little dog with us. They said they have something cute for her in the rooms. We got nothing. 4) We came during slow season. If there were 2-3 people at the pool and a few others roaming the grounds, it was a lot. Parking lot was essentially empty. Point being… they weren’t fully booked, not even close. We called day of departure to ask for a late checkout. Tracy at the front desk gave us a whopping 45 minutes extra. I mean she couldn’t even make it to Noon. 11:45am we were told. A bit stiff if you ask me. Relax, guys. You’re a resort in the middle of wine country. Going that extra step to please guests will keep them coming back. Would I come back after all this? Unless we were offered something substantial to make up for the less than stellar experiences we had, meh…probably not.

Great place to stay.

Our second stay here. As usual, very friendly and helpful staff. Room was large, clean and comfortable. We had a balcony with a view. While I didn't use the gym, it was excellent for a hotel gym. We came for the Kalapana 50th Anniversary concert and it was convenient and easy. Also, the restaurant was very good with very friendly and helpful staff.

What a great trip! This hotel is right in the middle of SoCal wine country - a perfect location. The villas are so nice, and perfect for a relaxing, low-key weekend getaway. The food was excellent and the spa was so nice, and very accommodating. And then there is the wine - surprisingly good! Altogether a great long weekend.
