We went on holiday to Kerala and stayed at The Leela for five nights. The stay was very comfortable. The hotel is set on a small hill on the beach overlooking the Arabian Sea and the view is stunning from every direction. The peacocks wandering around the hotel adds to the beauty. The standard of cleanliness is also very high. Our house keepers Neethu and Mabel were very good and friendly. Our butler Sudheer was extremely helpful and he was always there if we needed something. The chef and all the other staff at the buffet were also very good and always ready to help if we needed something particular (diet wise). The people working at the organic garden also gave us a very good tour of the garden. The cleaners, gardeners and security guards always greeted us nicely. We as a family had a memorable stay. Definitely recommend.

Our experience at Leela was a paradise indeed. Throughout our stay, we were greeted with panoramic views of the ocean which bowled us over. The property is top notch, placed strategically on a cliff allowing for uninterrupted access to the vast Arabian Sea. Though the rooms are a bit outdated and deserve a generous revamp, their views compensate for the overall quality. Right from the airport and throughout our stay, Mr. Manu(driver) was very courteous and friendly and quickly built a rapport with us. Mr. Durgesh’s (front desk) warm smile and courteous attitude was very welcoming The duty manager and Mr. Naveen were extremely understanding and gave us a room extension till 2pm as we had a child travelling with us Somnath Chef He is absolutely a pearl to the hotel. A person with a passion and commitment to fulfil his responsibilities. He was constantly on his toes to keep guests happy and satisfied. Him along with Mr. Shaik Sabjan went out of the way to get us mangoes to fulfil our cravings. It’s people like them who made Leela Kovalam stand out and negated the damage done by other employees. Mr. Sathish, Mr. Akash and Mr. Anwar Shaw were also very deeply involved with their work and made an effort to connect and be there for the guests, making sure our requirements were throughly met. However Ms. REMITHA(front desk) was absolutely dazed and had no interest in her job. She was the one who was assigned the responsibility of showing us our room. Extremely blunt and robotic, she made no effort to speak up or explain about the property, our package inclusions etc. We had to figure it out all on our own. When we come to a resort like the Leela, we expect basic communication and explanation. She walked 5 steps ahead of us, treated us like we were a liability and did not even give a tour of the room. Our interaction with her felt like we were at a 2 star hotel. I would request the Leela to please train her before she interacts with guests, in order to prevent her from ruining your image. I was extremely disappointed by her, however, people like Mr. Somnath made our experience better and balanced it out. I would also want the Leela to train the team at the restaurant. Apart from the names mentioned, everyone was lethargic(especially the omelette counter). It took 35 minutes and multiple follow ups to get a normal 2 egg omelette. Such experiences don’t suit a 5 star property.
