We had a wonderful family stay at The Leela Kovalam. The location is breathtaking with beautiful sea views, and the property itself is peaceful and luxurious. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, perfect for a family. The staff were extremely warm and attentive, making our stay even more special. We also loved the food, especially the excellent breakfast spread. Overall, it was a memorable experience and we would highly recommend it for a relaxing family getaway.

After being offered a room next to a noisy hotel renovation project, it took us 2.5 hours to check in. Our friends, who had no such noise problem, took over an hour to check in. We then went for large gin and tonics to calm down, and were charged about £UK 19 each… Otherwise it was lovely. Shame about the initial check in experience which turned a 5 star review to a 2 star.

We stayed at the leela for two nights whilst travelling. I did the yoga in the morning and it was excellent. We had an Ayurvedic treatment, my husband said it was the best massage ever. The staff are polite and helpful and the food breakfast was amazing, so much choice. Thank Leela 🙏

Came to Kerela for much needed relaxation which sounds difficult in a busy busy place like India. Just been here a day and Emma and I went straight in for a Abhyanga Snana massage. Both of us agree, it’s the best we’ve had and we’ve had many. I guess we shouldn’t be surprised as we have come to one of the best places for treatments but even still, we were. AThra and Aedithya were therapists are they were beyond excellent. Highly recommend them both. Just looking through the list for what to have tomorrow.

We visited as a family of five for a four-day break, and we left thoroughly delighted. It was a special trip for us and the stay exceeded expectations. We would happily recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxed and memorable coastal getaway. Check-in: Warm, welcoming and very smooth. The staff made us feel at ease right from the moment we arrived. Rooms: The rooms were very well maintained and spotlessly clean. Toiletries, towels and amenities were thoughtfully arranged, and we especially appreciated the move away from plastic water bottles. Tip:If possible, go for the ocean-facing rooms. They are lovely and also allow you to fully experience the legendary architecture.. where the rooms are beautifully oriented toward the sea while still maintaining good privacy. Service: Service was consistently attentive and gracious. We had a few special requests .. including arranging a decorated room and a complimentary cake for a celebration & everything was handled warmly and without fuss. Facilities: The property spans multiple levels, but the buggy service made moving around extremely easy, especially for seniors. It was always available and very well managed. Spa is too noticed too! Food: Breakfast had an extensive and very satisfying spread. The made-to-order dishes were particularly good. While the menu may appear concise, the kitchen was happy to accommodate requests beyond the menu, which we appreciated. Overall, the food quality was excellent. The South Asian cuisine served on the beach at Tides was especially enjoyable. Ambience & Design: This was perhaps our favourite aspect of the stay. Experiencing the remarkable architecture of Charles Correa is a treat in itself. The spaces flow beautifully into one another, and the restrained design language with minimal embellishment allows the architecture to breathe. The Kerala aesthetic of wood and locally sourced materials is thoughtfully integrated. Details like the authentic mosaic tiles (not the printed versions one often sees today!) add charm. The landscaping is also wonderful, with mature trees carefully preserved and lovely rows of frangipani throughout the property. A particularly delightful touch was the ambient music across the property, which we were told was specially composed by Aman & Ayaan Ali . Small nuances like this quietly elevate the overall experience. Overall: If you’re looking for a relaxed getaway.. one where you can slow down and enjoy the resort itself rather than hop & stop tour this property is highly recommended.
