Four Seasons Hotel Tianjin

We stayed for two nights at Four Seasons Hotel Tianjin and overall had a pleasant stay. The hotel is in a very convenient location, close to shopping malls and surrounded by a buzzy and vibrant part of the city. The rooms are spacious and our views were reasonable, although facing tall residential buildings. The business lounge is a good value-add, particularly with breakfast, afternoon tea, dinner and evening drinks included. Once seated, the breakfast itself offers a good variety and there was plenty of choice. One of the highlights for me was actually the housekeeping team. They were considerate and attentive throughout our stay. On one occasion, I mentioned that I didn't have time to queue for breakfast, and the cleaning lady kindly offered me some snacks to take away. It was a small gesture, but exactly the kind of thoughtful service that makes a difference. There were, however, a few areas where I felt the hotel could improve. The front desk could have been more proactive in communicating important information to guests. During our stay, the hotel was close to full occupancy, but we were not advised that breakfast would be particularly busy or that the breakfast area was operating a queuing system due to the overflow. Had we known, we could have chosen a less busy time rather than arriving and having to queue. The front desk also did not mention that breakfast finished at 10am. I had assumed the breakfast hours would be closer to the usual Four Seasons standard of 11am, so on one occasion we almost missed breakfast altogether. These may seem like relatively small points, but after staying at close to 20 Four Seasons properties, I have come to expect a particularly proactive level of communication and attention to detail from the front desk. Overall, Four Seasons Tianjin is a good hotel with an excellent location, spacious rooms and a very worthwhile lounge. The housekeeping team were particularly impressive during our stay. With more proactive communication and attentive front-desk service, I think the overall experience could be significantly stronger.

Excellent hotel close to a lot of attractions and by subway stop. Great staff and spacious, well-kept rooms. Only gripe was the room felt a bit hot. Shoeshine was efficient as was laundry service. Good breakfast with Eastern and Western options, top notch gym and good spa. Highly recommended hotel.

Enjoyed my stay here for 2 nights in October. Hotel is absolutely gorgeous and the rooms are quite large and very clean. Staff was very attentive. Fantastic spa. Over the top breakfast buffet. Highly recommend this property. It will not disappoint.

The staff at the Tianjin Four Seasons is poorly trained and does not reflect the global brand. Stay at the Ritz Carlton for better service. The check in staff might have previously worked at the international airport immigration desk. They are very mechanical and you are a bother to them. The staff doesn't care whether you have a nice stay or not. The rooms are fine, so long as you are not given a room facing the construction next door. Demand a change. The pool is nice but the changing room is constantly dirty because the pool's lifeguard is also the changing room attendant. The hotel is near the corner of a busy intersection and the Tianjin Isetan department store. The entrance is on an upper level from the street level. If you come and go by car, you will not notice, but once you go on the street level the sidewalk is dirty and packed with individual food vendors.
