Le Tikehau by Pearl Resorts

Our stay at Le Tikeau Resort was nothing short of extraordinary. It’s one of those rare places that feels almost unreal in its beauty—the kind you usually only see in postcards or travel magazines. We stayed in an overwater bungalow with our family, and it was an unforgettable experience. Waking up to crystal-clear water right beneath you and stepping out onto the deck felt like a dream every single day. The island itself is simply breathtaking—easily one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited. The resort strikes a perfect balance between luxury and comfort. Everything is thoughtfully designed, from the villas to the common areas, creating a relaxed yet upscale atmosphere. The food was also excellent, with a great variety and consistently high quality throughout our stay. Overall, Le Tikeau Resort is an incredible destination—perfect for families as well as couples looking for a unique and unforgettable getaway. I would go back without hesitation.

Le Tikehau is a very lovely place located in a most scenic location. It unlike the better known high islands of Polynesia. The lagoon is God's own aquarium. It is possible to observe 35 varieties of reef fish from the walkways w/in the overwater bungalow sites. on windy days, the current is quite strong. Smaller, harmless, black tipped sharks are common here. Services @ the resort provided by staff and management are a 10/10. Our bungalow was cleaned twice a day. The French-Polynesian restaurant is quite good and is changed by 40% every 3 days. Of course, there is a lot of ocean and reef fish on the menu. All of our meals were good! It is possible to walk to other small islands from the resort using the exposed sand bars and wading in shallow water. My wife and I did this. We found a number of shells, but found they were the home of hermit crabs. They stayed in place. The sun is very hot here, bring spf 50 and reef shoes to protect your feet from the coral. The pink sand is memory making. They have a very clean swimming pool, w/ wonderful views of the lagoon where you will see 6-8 shades of blue on any given day. Tikehau means peace, you will find it here.

Great hard product, very nice welcome greeting. Lunch and dinner were lovely. So it’s weird that breakfast is so… tragic. B team for sure. Lots of flies, food picked over. Perhaps they should just have a menu rather than an outdoor buffet 🤦‍♂️

My husband and I stayed in Le Tikehau by Pearl from Jan 12-19. We chose Tikehau because we wanted to snorkel everyday from our over the water bungalow and as we had stayed in a French Polynesian Pearl resort before, we knew we would get good quality. Le Tikehau by Pearl resort met and exceeded our expectations. First, the snorkeling was pretty good. It is not like it was 20 years ago, but there was still a little bit of color in some of the coral, and a very good variety and quantity of marine life. I highly recommend going on excursions to the “manta ray cleaning station”, the “coral gardens” and a quick drift snorkel through the pass. I enjoyed snorkeling underneath and around the resort every day, morning and afternoon, and saw something new on every snorkel. Raipuni, the resort guest manager was fantastic, giving us recommendations and going above and beyond to helping us arrange a trip to Bird Island and participate in a motu picnic. He really made the experience and I cannot sing his praises enough. Honestly, all of the staff were friendly, helpful, courteous and professional- Outstanding! There was no more construction going on as read in previous reviews, as the newly built fish restaurant, view towers, and stage and seating are completed. The new Fish Restaurant which opened for the first time, the week prior, was a very special experience, simple but elegant, in the most magical setting (Thank you Anthony). We ate there twice. The main resort restaurant options for breakfast and dinner were varied and extensive, and well curated. As mentioned in previous reviews, the resort was completely renovated around 2023, and the bungalows were very nice and air conditioned. We stayed in one of the Premium overwater bungalows which allows you to go directly in the water and then come back and use your private outdoor shower to clean the gear. We stayed in 6, which is one of the bungalows at the end of the pier and its location was spectacular, with views of both sunrise and sunset. Tikehau Atoll is a very special experience and even the occasional rain showers during the wet season did not dampen our enthusiasm and joy of just being…. We highly recommend Le Tikehau by Pearl.
