I really wish I could give this Four Seasons the full 5 stars because the service here is fabulous and if I could, I would give 6 stars just for the service, however, the overall stay doesn’t stand upto the standards of Four Seasons. The biggest issue is the hotel itself. It feels like it is force-fitted into a hotel in a big commercial building. The location is excellent, right by the Tokyo Station, and convenient for everything. The lobby is ridiculously small. Rooms are on the lower levels of the building and are boring. Hallways are equally boring. Views are not-so-good to okay. You won’t feel you are at Four Seasons until you see the Four Seasons signs here and there and of course, the final bill. They have two restaurants while pretty much all other 5 star hotels in Tokyo have several dining options, and one of those two restaurants is a Michelin starred restaurant, which is great, but you can’t get a reservation there so constrained to just one restaurant all the time. Either you have all the meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) at the same restaurant or go somewhere outside. The service here is consistently one of the best I have experienced. Japan is known for great service and most 5 star hotels in Japan provide excellent service but I would still put this as one of the best. The entire staff deserves kudos for consistently providing such good service. Also, the quality of food is good even with the limited options. By the way, they bake one of the best madeleines in the world! I bought them several times for friends and everyone absolutely loved them. May not be my top choice in Tokyo but I would go back just for great service and of course, the madeleines.

Extremely comfortable and pleasant stay. The room itself is spacious and well thought-out. The shower has good water pressure, and the amenities are of good quality. The breakfast is overall good, and the eating area is bathed in natural sunlight. The service is very good; if you decide to go out for an early morning jog, you’ll find that the staff has already prepared by the front entrance jogging route maps, water, power bars, and towels for your exercise. The front desk also makes a note of your departure time and will call to arrange a taxi before you’ve even left your room to check out.

Although the hotel is a bit dated, that’s exactly what gives it its charm and warm, inviting atmosphere. From the moment a staff member greeted us right on the platform at Tokyo Station, we were impressed by their kindness and attention to detail. The service throughout our stay was exceptional, and every detail was thoughtfully executed.

Great location, excellent service, what you would expect from a Four Seasons, it is walking distance from the central train station, which is good and bad, because you hear the trains all day and into the night, which is a significant drawback. Otherwise, the staff and facility were top notch, and the 3-Michelin star restaurant, Sezanne, is in the hotel, and it is one of the best meals I have ever had
