Reviews for Park Hyatt Tokyo

One of the best!

This is probably one of my top 2-3 hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Absolutely cannot beat the location. And despite the lively location, the hotel was a lovely sanctuary. So modern, yet traditional at the same time. The rooms were well appointed with premium amenities and they even had robes and slippers for our 2 little ones! They even had a Dyson hair dryer! Staff couldn’t be more welcoming- this is definitely a place where they rarely say no. Only stayed 2 nights and when we moved to our next hotel, which was actually still nice, we were missing Parky Hyatt!

Great stay - one of the highlights of a fantastic Japan vacation!

We stayed at the Park Hyatt Tokyo for a couple of nights just before it closed for a major renovation—and it was a truly memorable experience. Our room was on one of the higher floors, offering sweeping views of the city, and the bathroom was impressively spacious—almost the size of a small hotel room itself! The rooftop bar was a highlight, featuring live jazz that added to the sophisticated atmosphere. The private check-in process was seamless and set the tone for a smooth, luxurious stay. We’re already looking forward to returning once the hotel reopens.

Disappointing

tldr: we were underwhelmed by our experience at the Park Hyatt Tokyo and won’t be back again. Check-in: The hotel was very disorganized: there are many people in the hotel area frequenting its restaurant, bar and bakery besides the hotel guests; and there were insufficient signs and help from the staff. As we walked in, no one greeted us and we had to ask someone for the specific check-in location (the first person pointed us to the wrong place, a cake pick-up). The building entrance is overall confusing and feels like a convention center - sterile. At check in, we were not offered any help with luggage. Room: The room has a great view, but it needs renovation: water leaking from shower stall, bulky wood furniture, torn sofa surfaces, walls with scratches, limited electrical outlets at odd locations, doors making sound when sliding, worn carpets, no rain shower head. Amenities: The gym and pool are complimentary but has a tiny locker area. For a more spacious and comfortable ladies’ room, you need to pay extra for use of the spa. We felt nickled and dimed especially when comparing to other hotels we’ve stayed at in this trip—saunas, jacuzzi and steam room were complementary elsewhere except for this hotel. On the plus side, the in-room amenities are great: Dyson hair dryer, Bose bluetooth speaker, and aesop toiletries are provided. Dining: The hotel bar “New York bar” had a 45 minute wait when we were there. Hotel guests can wait from the room, but oddly no one told us that. They assumed we were not hotel guests and told us to wait in line. Overall, we felt the stay did not provide a luxury experience; we did not feel a personal touch in the service, or any service at all. I would rate this hotel as a 3.5-star and not 5-star for what they offer. Feels like a regular Hyatt or Grand Hyatt at best, As Hyatt loyalists, we felt this property is a huge letdown. Japan and Tokyo in particular have a lot to offer so we would not be back at the PH Tokyo again.

Fantastic hotel

First off, going to the lobby is quite tricky. You have to take the elevator up to the hotel lobby. As you come out of the elvator, you turn right and go all the way to the end of the hallway. Checking in is like sitting at a table and opening a bank account. Very personal service. The staff that greeted us was quite stiff yet professional. We were ushered up to our room (just like in St. Regis) and made sure we had everything we needed. The location is convenient. It is just a few mins walk to restaurants and shops. The room was fantastic with a great view! It was spacious. They had luxurious toiletries. Everything was all there. We didn't have to ask for more. They provided a pair of sleeping clothes in case you forget to bring some. The staff at the restaurant were all very friendly and attentive. They provided excellent service. The food was all delicious. Our experience was great overall. It's worth coming back. The room was fantastic with a great view! It was spacious. They had luxurious toiletries.
