Reviews for Park Hyatt Tokyo

Exceptional in every way -- our new go-to hotel in Tokyo

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 12 hours ago

My fiancée and I stayed at the Park Hyatt Tokyo during our trip through Japan, and it was hands-down one of the best hotel experiences we've had. Every detail felt considered, from the warmth of the check-in to the breathtaking views over the city -- the New York Bar at sunset is every bit as magical as its reputation suggests. Our room was gorgeous; spacious, beautifully designed, and we couldn't believe we could see Mount Fuji right from our window. Waking up to that view each morning was unforgettable. When we mentioned we were recently engaged, the hotel went above and beyond: they surprised us with a complimentary gift of champagne and an absolutely delicious dessert to help us celebrate. It was such a thoughtful touch and made the moment even more special. The service here really set the hotel apart. I accidentally left my headphones in the room after we checked out, and the staff not only found them but reached out to let us know they'd have them ready and waiting when we returned -- which happened to be about two weeks later on the same trip. That kind of attentiveness and follow-through is rare, and it turned a small mistake on my part into a genuinely memorable example of Japanese hospitality at its finest. The rooms are beautifully designed, the staff are consistently gracious, and the overall experience felt seamless. This is, without a doubt, our new go-to hotel in Tokyo -- we already can't wait to come back on future trips.

Disastrous Service Failure at Park Hyatt Tokyo

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

I would like to bring the following critical service failures to your immediate attention: Complete Lack of Guidance and Assistance During a Typhoon: We arrived on Friday evening, 10pm (Not Midnight), during torrential typhoon rain. Shockingly, there was no doorman, greeter, or any staff member present on the 1st floor to guide arriving guests. To make matters worse, there is no elevator connecting the 1st and 2nd floors—only a staircase. With zero staff in sight, we were forced to haul our heavy luggage up the stairs by ourselves in the storm. Upon reaching the dimly lit 2nd floor, there was still no staff to direct us, leaving us completely stranded and confused. Indifferent Lobby Experience & Zero Guest Care: When we finally managed to reach the lobby floor, not a single employee offered to assist with or store our luggage, leaving us to struggle with dragging heavy bags across the thick carpets. At the check-in counter, I expressed my frustration regarding the total lack of guidance and the time wasted. Despite seeing that we were completely drenched from head to toe, the staff showed utter indifference. No towel was offered, nor was there any basic gesture of care to help us dry off. Being Treated differently: Despite my elite status as a Globalist member, I was assigned the smallest available guest room. Incessant Harassment Regarding Check-Out (Communication Breakdown): Upon check-in, the front desk agent proactively offered us a 2:00 PM late check-out. However, at 11:30 AM the next morning, we were harassed by a phone call demanding we vacate the room. I re-confirmed the agreed 2:00 PM check-out with the caller. Yet, at 1:30 PM, we were phone-bombed again with another disruptive reminder. Due to the dangerous typhoon weather, we had no choice but to stay on the property and utilize the Spa and Pool facilities, but even there, staff repeatedly pressured and rushed us to leave. This internal communication failure was highly distressing. Negligent Departure Service: The final blow occurred when we were departing the hotel by taxi. Although there were two of us, only one staff member showed up with an umbrella, shielding only the person in front. The person behind was completely abandoned in the pouring rain and got soaked.

Gorgeous hotel

Wonderful stay, particularly using Grand Hyatt Suite Upgrade award for a huge room upgrade. Lovely amenities delivered and overall great service with the exception of less than expected assistance from the concierge desk. Breakfast was incredible, what a treat. Spa facilities were lovely though the refreshment area wasn’t maintained to keep up with demand. I only realized later when it was tidied that I had actually drunk out of someone’s used water cup and snack dish that they had left for clean up and there were no clean glasses or dishes available. That grossed me out and for the price paid for spa treatments, upkeep should have been better and it would be great if snacks were a little more generous. Location served us well for a couple of nights before we moved on to hotels in other areas.

Amazing facility with incredibly attentive staff. Short stay but will be back. Spa/Club was a special experience. Breakfast was extraordinary and service 5 stars. Check in is a bit laborious and could use some tweaking but other than that felt like we were in a dream. Can't wait to return.

Beautiful service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I don’t know where to begin. They showed us elegant, warm, and kind service no matter which part of our stay we were on. From our pre arrival correspondence, to check in, to my birthday requests (which your guest experience manager executed flawlessly, and beautifully, with high personalization and warmth) to the gracious daily service we received at Girandole, the housekeeping, the valet, this hotel and the people who work here are beautiful inside and out. The newly renovated rooms and public spaces are stunning.
