Urgent Issue With Room Reservation and Unexpect

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

I booked two rooms through Amex Travel approximately one month ago. One room was for my wife and me, and the second room was for my three children. The second room was specifically described as having two twin beds, a fold-out couch, and a balcony. We selected and paid for that room based on that description. Upon arrival, the fold-out couch was physically present in the room. However, when we asked housekeeping to prepare it, the front desk informed us that we would be charged an additional 19,000 yen per night to use the couch. This charge was never disclosed at the time of booking. More concerning, after housekeeping began preparing the couch, a front desk employee came to the room and instructed housekeeping to stop. We respectfully request that the fold-out couch be prepared immediately at no additional charge, consistent with the room description under which we booked. If the hotel refuses, please provide written confirmation of: • The basis for the additional charge • The room description the hotel believes applies to our reservation • The name and title of the manager handling this matter Thank you for your prompt attention to this issue.

Staff is very dismissive

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

I was a bit dissapointed at the lack of service upon arriving at the hotel. I had a very important mail sent to the hotel to which the staff was very dismissive when I asked for the mail. They simply said they did not receive it, and to check back again upon check in. I urgently needed the mail before check in, so I asked again for them to look for it, to which after a different staff actually started searching for it, then they found the mail with urgent mail worth 30,000 yen for my visit to Ghibli Museum at 1pm. Very Dissapointed even before checking in at the lack of initiative and care for some of the staff. - mike

Great service and great Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

I have stayed at this hotel before and was happy to return. It seems they do keep up with renovations since I was last year maybe 10 years ago. The hotel is quite posh and I stayed on the 27th floor which has access to the executive lounge. Bed was very comfortable, and the room was large. I guess you would expect that for the premium price that they charge. In the executive lounge itself the view is great and the drinks and snacks that they provide are quite nice. One thing they no longer have is basically any diet drinks which I'm pretty sure they used to have. So it's either Coca-Cola with sugar or Chinese green tea refrigerated without sugar. It would be nice to bring back either Coke Zero or diet Coke has there must be several customers who would appreciate that. I don't drink alcohol so it left me very little choice to drink in the lounge. The lounge also offered breakfast, and it was fine nothing fantastic but definitely fine. They had an egg station, and they would also do waffles. There were a few other choices of fish and bacon and that kind of thing. Just not as much choice as in a regular restaurant at a hotel the choices are limited. But at least you don't have the huge crowds. The only other potential drawback for some people is that it's not right near transit. You can walk to it but it's not super close. As it sort of in a park there's not much directly around the hotel without a walk. One convenient thing that I didn't know they had was a Lawson convenience store within the hotel on the b2 level.

Nice hotel, rooms outdated

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

I’ve stayed for three nights at the Prince Park Tower Hotel. The entrance of the hotel is impressive and the atmosphere is cosmopolitic and typical five-star. The reception is friendly, professional and efficient. The facilities are a little limited for a 5-star hotel (especially fitness and swimming pool, which was closed). The breakfast is outstanding (choice and quality) and on the top-floor with a very nice view on Tokyo. The thing I didn’t liked was that at “rush hour” you had to wait quite a while before seated. The sky bar is magnificent in the evening and let you feel that you’re on top of the world. The rooms (I had a corner room on the south side) are a little bit outdated and needed renovation, there was also a smell of old furniture / carpet in the room. Also the air conditioning was not perfect so the room was too warm (when I entered the room it was 30 degrees celsius. This is not worth a 5-star hotel and certanly not in line with the price you pay. Though the beds were good and the bathroom very spacious with bath and seperate shower.

Dated

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

Pros - The neighborhood is peaceful and scenic, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The surroundings really enhance the overall ambiance of the stay. - Great breakfast with good view of the city but expensive. - The staff at the taxi stand were attentive and helpful, making transportation easier to manage. Cons - The hotel is quite far from the subway, which made getting around the city inconvenient. - The gym is located in the basement, which felt miles away from the rooms. It was inconvenient to access it. - My room was dated, and I was disappointed to find mold hanging from the toilet light. This definitely detracted from my stay. Overall, while the serene location and some staff services were highlights, the dated facilities and inconvenient access to public transport left much to be desired. I was definitely expecting more.
