About the Hotel
Rancho Santana is situated between the Pacific Ocean and Lake Nicaragua on one of the Pacific only isthmuses. Bordered on both sides by water, Rancho Santana enjoys the distinction of nearly constant off shore breezes, 30 days or more each year. This off-shore wind combined with a perfectly angled coastline creates world-class surf conditions and affords guests three surf breaks on site and a dozen breaks in the area.
Rancho Santana’s terrain is as diverse as the guests who come to hike our many trails. Traverse jungle and tropical dry forest on the Los Perros loops; top off a walk to Playa Escondida with a visit to the turtle sanctuary and a splash in the tide pools; and summit a sand dune at Playa Duna.
Rancho Santana has three swimming pools and three clubhouses located throughout the property. There are four dining venues: La Finca and El Mar, La Boquita, El Cafe and La Taqueria.

Horseback riding at Rancho Santana
The horseback riding experience at Rancho Santana was fantastic! Januar and Lorenzo were amazing guides, they lead us down the gorgeous beach and wooded trails. The horses were exquisite, and extremely well cared for. You can really tell how much they love their job.

Horseback riding
Rode horses with Januar at Rancho Santa on the Escondia trail. Saw monkeys and a white sand beach and rode along the coastline. Both guides were excellent and will teach any riders regardless of experience. It was my first time and with their help I picked up on it quickly.

Very welcoming staff
I would like to give a shoutout to the guys who run La Tienda, specifically Eliezer and José, who are so kind and helpful. They provide outstanding customer service and even remember my grocery preferences from last October. I am also impressed with the restaurant staff at all the Ranchi Santana restaurants. They provide attentive and warm service.

Love Rancho Santana!
We have a second home here at the ranch and love being here on the Emerald coast! I frequent the Spa when I’m here and have always had the best services!! Celeste, Ximena and David just to name a few are wonderful! Oscar, Wilmer and many other servers at the restaurants/ bars provide excellent service!! I can’t recommend Rancho Santana enough! It’s a little piece of paradise :)

Tienda food
Tienda always seems to pull thru with great food and essentials. Nice ac too! Also shout out to Jose and Elsier working behind the counter there. They make shopping there a great experience, fully bilingual and excellent service! Way to go guys!
