Wonderful
Fairmont Royal York hotel (previously The Royal York Hotel) was built on the site of Queens Hotel by Canadian Pacific Railway in 1929. It was part of coast-to-coast grand hotels chain and was the largest hotel in the British Commonwealth. We went in to see it and found beautiful hand-painted ceilings and travertine pillars as well as photos of British Royals who stayed here when visited Canada. We wanted to see famous ballroom but it was closed for us - at least we saw photo of it. There are many wonderful rooms like Concert hall, Canadian room, Ontario room, Imperial room or several mezzanine rooms but you need to attend event in it to see them. The hotel is decorated with Canadian theme paintings.

Excellent hotel excellent service
The service was excellent. Concierge , Housekeeping and level 18 Gold Especially Irum in housekeeping. I am staying for 1 week.

Poor rooms
There is much to like about this hotel: it's location, the food services, the bars, (especially the Library!!). But the room had a broken door on the closet; peeling paint in the closet; the clocks were not set to current time and when we ran out of Kleenex, we asked them to bring some up and they never did.

A great stay!
We had a great stay. We were made to feel very welcome and valued visitors. Lovely people working in all departments. Nothing was too much trouble. We were celebrating a birthday and the hotel made it a vey special day. Rooms are spotless, very comfortable, well appointed and serviced to a high standard every day. In Room Dining was really good. The location is great for transport links. So easy to get from the main airport on the UP train, with Union Station just across the road, and linked to the hotel by The Path. There is a lift at the side entrance to the hotel which avoids all the steps when using the front door. Great hotel and would love to stay again.

We had an incredible stay on Fairmont Gold. The amazing staff on the Gold Floor made this trip so memorable and luxurious!

We had a great time. The hotel has excellent staff and service. The food is outstanding and the cocktails are too. It’s is a perfect place to go for 2 nights. This package deal you offer is fantastic. I will do it again.
