Wheelchair is not welcome!?!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 hours ago

Delayed train so decided to go to the Royal York to grab a late lunch. Sadly, they did not make it at all easy for to enter the facility with my power wheelchair. They were starting construction. After 20 minutes they suggested I could use the service elevator, but itwould be a few minutes and then once inside, I will not be able to easily exit the building. Already discouraged, I could not believe how the royal York made me feel less of an individual! Be advised if you are in a power device or wheelchair or needing accessible entry into the Royal York. And definitely do not even think of being welcomed in the front doors!

Its not just Customer Service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

If you’re looking for more than just a place to sleep in downtown Toronto, and instead want an experience that stays with you long after checkout, look no further than the iconic Fairmont Royal York. From the moment we started planning this trip—months before even stepping through the doors—the experience was already exceptional. A special thank you to Edwin Frizzle, whose attention, professionalism, and genuine care made us feel completely at ease. It’s rare to feel like a priority before you’ve even arrived, but that’s exactly what happened here. Location-wise, it truly doesn’t get better. You’re right in the heart of everything—just steps from Scotiabank Arena, Rogers Centre, the Ripley's Aquarium of Canada, and every major transit option you could need. Whether you’re in town for sports, family adventures, or just exploring, this hotel puts it all at your fingertips. But what truly sets the Fairmont apart isn’t just “customer service”—it’s something deeper. It’s an atmosphere. An experience. From the moment you walk through the doors, there’s a signature scent, a feeling, a sense that you’ve stepped into something special. It’s the kind of place where memories are made without even trying. Every single staff member we encountered treated us like VIPs—not in a forced or scripted way, but with genuine warmth and pride in what they do. And then there was Jesse (apologies if I misspelled it) in the lobby bar—someone who completely elevated the experience. Calling him a bartender doesn’t do him justice. He’s an artist of his craft. Every drink was perfect, but more than that, he made you feel like an old friend. The kind of conversation where it feels like you’re just picking up where you left off, even if you’ve never met before. That’s the magic of a place like the Fairmont Royal York. It’s not just about luxury—it’s about connection. It’s about the little moments, the people, the feeling you carry with you long after you leave. Lovely historic hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

This is a beautiful old hotel within walking distance to many of Toronto's attractions and is right across the street from the train station. . The service was excellent from all staff but a special shoutout to my room attendant Serafina. My room was always spotless and she was so helpful and welcoming, always with a smile on her face . Thank you! My only complaint is that I wish I would have had more time to utilize and explore all the hotel had to offer.

Great Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

An absolutely fabulous visit at the Fairmont Royal York. The property is very well maintained and while the rooms are on the smaller side, they are well appointed and comfortable. A shout out to Sol and the Reign restaurant and bar where we had a two wonderful dinners and cocktails. Sol is a fabulous hostess who explained the three different Resturant’s and helped us with a reservation. The meal was stunning as was the extensive wine list. John T. superbly cared for us and recommended an excellent wine on the Sommelier’s day off. Unreasonable hospitality always makes the visit special. Thanks Sol and John! Note: If you are catching the Via Rail Canada train from Union Station the Fairmont is right across the street from the door you want to enter at the station.

Elite Hotel Gym

Gym is elite for a hotel. Power rack and Smith Machine. Full dumbbell rack, cable machines, as well as plyo and HIIT equipment. Cardio of all kinds, plenty of machines. Spacious, luxurious. The photos speak for themselves.

We had a great time. The hotel has excellent staff and service. The food is outstanding and the cocktails are too. It’s is a perfect place to go for 2 nights. This package deal you offer is fantastic. I will do it again. Thanks very much!
