An Exceptional Stay At the St. Regis Toronto

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Exceptional Stay at the St. Regis Toronto From the moment we arrived, the experience was flawless. The service was truly impeccable—every staff member went above and beyond to make our stay special. The rooftop restaurant offered not only delicious food but stunning views of the city. We also loved the lobby bar—elegant, lively, and home to some of the best cocktails we’ve had in a while. The location couldn’t be better—right in the heart of a vibrant, world-class city. The St. Regis Toronto exceeded all expectations. We can’t wait to return!

Not sure who is accountable for this?

Big Minus points: 1. We booked 2 deluxe suites(confirmed), 1 BR : 900 sq ft each. BUT got 1 deluxe suite corner 900 sq ft and another 1 deluxe room 550 sq ft - I realized this late since this room felt smaller than the 650 sq ft suite we just came from NOTL. We were not informed and no explanation whatsover! 2. The description on Hotels.com(see screenshot) specifically says 2 private bathrooms, but it actually is 1.5 bathrooms(Marriot website for the hotel shows 1.5) - This is MISLEADING. I had to book another room on the spot, just for another bathroom , at a premium price. I could only get a room for one night, they were fully booked afterwards. 3. Bathroom in the corner suite was not cleaned well, house keeping took forever after multiple follow ups(45 mins!!) - then multiple people showed up to do the cleaning :) They were very apologetic, but you would expect things be perfect at the beginning for a 5 star hotel! 4. I had specifically asked for an extra rollaway bed on extra charges for both the suites - got 1 in the corner suite, upon asking they got one for the other room as well. 5. Heard of some world famous butler service(had received welcome emails as well), never saw anyone, no one answered the phone from the room:( 6. The first day when we checked in - our calls never went through - to front desk, concierge, house keeping , butler service, private dining - no body picked up. I had to go down the elevators from 17th floor to talk to front desk every time I needed something. Thank you for the exercise :) Plus points: Front desk were busy, but were helpful. Bellmen and valet were friendly and welcoming, always. Location is good, near multiple attractions but we decided to take uber for everything - since parking is a nightmare.

WOW WOW WO

This was our first time staying at the St. Regis, but it definitely won’t be the last! It’s probably the best hotel in Toronto. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome, they even called to check in on how our stay was going! There were thoughtful goodies waiting in the room, and to our surprise, they followed up to ask what beverage we’d like the following day. The level of service was truly exceptional, it was attentive, personalized, and consistent throughout our stay. The hotel itself is the perfect blend of elegance and luxury. The room was beautifully appointed, and every detail from the decor to the bottled water reflected the high standards of a posh, high-end hotel. I highly recommend staying here, whether it’s for a night, a weekend, or longer. The St. Regis delivers an experience that’s truly unforgettable.

Modern hotel, good front desk, horrible rest of hotel service.

Just stayed / staying at the St Regis Toronto and very very disappointed with the whole experience. Dont get me wrong, the rooms are very moden and nice, the pool and gym areas are nice and the front desk is very polite / helpful. The manager or managers of the hotel were quite helpful too but that is where it stops. Given we were staying for 12 days and were paying quite high prices, our expectations for the service was high and we were extremely disappointed. Anytime you called house keeping or private dining or the butler service, you only had a less than a 50% chance of someone picking up the phone. Even when they did, it would take atleast 3 follow up reminder calls for them to deliver something as basic as a set of plates, or an extra duvet or something. If you're in town for only one night and dont care about service this might work, but if you're here for an extended period and require good service, I would look elsewhere. The service standards were absolutely appalling. This is probably my sixth or seventh stay at the St Regis Toronto and probably my last. At this price point, there are other more compelling / better service options around (Mandarin, Ritz, Four Seasons etc.). The only two reasons I gave it two stars was for the front desk and the quality of the rooms. Also if you're staying in a one bedroom or two bedroom suite, please bear in mind that while the lounge gets nice and chilly the bedrooms stay very very hot. So if you're a hot sleeper be prepared for uncomfortable nights, as they only have a tiny air vent in the bedroom and its very hard to get the room cold with that tiny air vent.

Disappointing Stay – Poor Service & Communication Ruined My Birthday Trip

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

e: Disappointing Stay – Poor Service & Communication Ruined My Birthday Trip I had high hopes for my birthday stay at this property, but unfortunately, it fell short in multiple ways. Upon arrival, there was an issue with my check-in due to a form error I wasn’t aware of—especially since it had been accepted at another Marriott hotel just the night before. I was told I had until midnight to correct the issue, yet my card was charged twice just an hour later without any warning. That lack of communication locked up funds I had planned to use for my birthday activities, which I then had to cancel. To make matters worse, I overheard staff speaking negatively about my situation, assuming I couldn’t understand them. That was both unprofessional and disrespectful. My room also wasn’t up to St. Regis standards—dusty surfaces, hair in the shower, and a broken toilet. On my actual birthday, the lobby was filled with loud guests for hours, and the smell of marijuana was overwhelming. It was not the luxury experience I expected. The only redeeming part of my stay was the spa. The staff there were warm, professional, and truly made me feel cared for. While I appreciate their service, the overall experience was disappointing enough that I’ve decided to cancel my upcoming reservation at another St. Regis property.
