Better hotel options in Toronto

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I would not recommend staying in this hotel. We're here right now and it's been a comedy of errors. We booked a deluxe suite, arrived at the hotel a few minutes after 4 pm and our room wasn't ready (check in is 3 pm). We waited 10 minutes or so before they told us room was ready. They supposedly upgraded us to a corner suite but it's not an upgrade. 12th floor, no view, and next to the elevator. I would have rather had our original reserved room. I suspect the room we booked wasn't available as the hotel was at full capacity. The worst part is the elevator noise. This room should not actually be in their inventory. You can hear the elevator in the living room. Their housekeeping is quite bad. They don't replenish items in the room (soap, cotton balls, coffee pods). I don't think anything has been replenished. They also may or may not do turn down service and when they do, they don't shut the curtains. It takes forever to get anything if you call and ask for something. Tonight they tried to do turn down services at 8:30 pm. What hotel does turn down at that hour???? I spoke to the manager about the noise issue. Her solution was to show me a suite that was like the one we reserved. My expectation was you provides us with a better room. No need to move to a similar room. We usually stay in Ritz Carltons, Four Seasons, Peninsulas, and Belmond properties so we were expecting the same level of service at this property but this hotel is definitely not a luxury experience. $3000 later and lesson learned. We won't be back and will probably stay at the Four Seasons. The only positives are the breakfast food is good and the concierges are excellent. Otherwise, stay far away from this hotel. Maybe management will respond to my review but the issues should have been taken care of during our stay.

Exceptional 5-Star Property for Hard to Please Guests-

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

We stayed here about four months ago, and at the time, I shared a review highlighting several service shortcomings. We decided to give the property another chance — and I’m so glad we did. This time, we’re genuinely impressed. Every interaction so far has been exceptional, from Engum at the front desk to Steve in F&B, and others across the team. This is exactly what one expects from a five-star property: a “yes” attitude, a strong sense of teamwork, and a genuine desire to personalize and elevate the guest experience. Whether it’s a shift in leadership or renewed focus, whatever changed clearly worked. Kudos to the entire team for turning things around and delivering an unforgettable stay.

A Class Act

This was our last stop before home on our road trip. It was amazing! Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely. The service staff, the food, the comfort and luxury of the room - All plus plus!!

Our Go-To in Toronto

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

This was our second stay at the St. Regis Toronto, and we didn’t think twice about booking again. Both times we’ve come to the city for Blue Jays games, and this hotel has quickly become our go-to. We’re already heading back again this September. The location is perfect — right in the heart of downtown, an easy walk to the ballpark and everything else Toronto has to offer. It’s also right on transit, which makes getting around the city simple and stress-free. The service is what truly sets it apart. The butler service is amazing — attentive, thoughtful, and always a step ahead. It adds that extra touch of comfort that makes the whole experience feel seamless. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and quiet, and the atmosphere strikes the right balance between polished luxury and genuine warmth. For us, it’s an easy choice every time we’re in Toronto — truly one of the best city hotels we’ve stayed in.
