Old dated

The hotel needs and upgrade. The restaurant Bosk has worn chairs. My room was a disaster - ripped carpet, cracked tiles, stain on chaise and in the bathroom. Having stayed just the week before at the 4Seasons, you can't compare the 2. Staff, service and cleanliness all needs an upgrade at the Shangri-La.

A wonderful return to Shangri-La Toronto

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We returned to Shangri-La Toronto for the final two nights of our trip to Canada, and our second stay confirmed everything we had already come to appreciate about this hotel. Travelling with five children can make even small details important, and the team made everything feel remarkably easy. A very special thank you goes to Perry, the Manager on Duty, who took care of our booking and room arrangements from the beginning. He handled everything with great professionalism, flexibility and genuine kindness. We felt truly welcomed back, and his willingness to find solutions made a real difference to our stay. At breakfast, Nahee was exceptional. She was constantly attentive, remembered the little things and somehow always seemed to notice when something was needed. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble. It was exactly those small details and her consistently positive attitude that made breakfast with our family so enjoyable every morning. We would also particularly like to thank Diana. Her warmth towards our family and especially our children felt incredibly genuine. She was thoughtful, understanding and wonderfully personal throughout our stay. Shortly before our departure, she surprised us with a beautiful handwritten note and a very thoughtful personal gesture. It was completely unexpected and a lovely way to end our time at the hotel. There are many beautiful luxury hotels, but what you remember afterwards are the people. Perry, Nahee and Diana are three of those people. Each of them, in very different roles, made us feel genuinely cared for and welcome. We left Toronto with wonderful memories, and Shangri-La was a meaningful part of them. Returning here already feels less like choosing a hotel and more like coming back to a place where we know our family will be looked after. Thank you for making our final days in Canada so special. We hope to return.

Hospitality from the heart

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Our stay at Shangri-La Toronto was, without question, the best hotel experience of our entire trip through Canada. Travelling as a large family, our preferred room configuration was particularly challenging. The Managers on Duty and Front Desk team went far beyond what we could reasonably have expected to make it possible. They didn’t simply respond to requests – they anticipated needs, found solutions and consistently made us feel that our family’s comfort genuinely mattered. The restaurant team deserves equally high praise. The warmth and attentiveness of the ladies looking after us was exceptional. They seemed to anticipate our wishes before we even had to ask. Combined with outstanding food and an excellent selection of fresh and healthy choices, dining here was a pleasure every single time. What impressed us throughout our stay was the mindset of the entire team: a genuine willingness to think beyond the immediate request. That is what distinguishes true luxury hospitality from simply staying in a luxury hotel. Shangri-La speaks about “hospitality from the heart.” At Shangri-La Toronto, we experienced exactly what those words are meant to represent. And three five deserve our very special recognition: Mr. Penny Leung, Mr. Demeko and Mr. Alex. Beyond simply being wonderful people, they are EXCEPTIONAL ambassadors for what the Shangri-La name should represent. Their genuine warmth, commitment and willingness to go beyond expectations turned an excellent stay into one our family will remember. Shangri-La Toronto didn’t just meet our expectations of a luxury hotel – it showed us what luxury hospitality should feel like. We would return without hesitation.
