The Hazelton Hotel is at the pinnacle of North American hotels. Truly second to none. Beginning with the incredible posh and hip location, exemplified by the exquisite facility and decor, compounded with rooms draped in luxury and technology, all eclipsed by the kindest, most caring staff ever. A grateful shout out to Al, Nicholous, front desk crew and the concierge staff, who not only go above and beyond to ensure your stay is nothing short of perfection but also offer the human touch of care, humor and friendship. Not a matter of IF but WHEN we will return to this little slice of heaven.

We stayed for 7 nights from the first Saturday of the Toronto Film Festival (TIFF) till the second Saturday. Overall, I highly recommend the hotel. The services (housekeeping, room service, concierge, etc.) are A+. The property itself is A+. You will not be disappointed. As far as staying here during TIFF, I don’t think it’s a place that adds to the “TIFF Experience”. The concierge doesn’t know much about TIFF happenings (although they generously shared a handful of trade magazines with me). It is a convenient place to stay during TIFF because it only takes about 20 minutes to get to the relevant theaters and all the major activities (10 min to walk to subway, and then a 10 min subway ride, or 20 min via car). Also, don’t count on their hotel car. It is available on a very limited basis, and only drives from the hotel (i.e., they don’t pick up). This was my one real gripe as I didn’t find the hotel car as a ‘convenience.’ We stayed in a Luxury King Balcony. Very nice, particularly the bathroom. My wife loved that they had a separate ‘rain’ shower, and large tub. The bathroom also has a night light feature, and heated floors. The Balcony was great, and it has a nice feel and view. It doesn’t really look over anything other than the street in front of the hotel, but that didn’t bother us and I loved sitting out on it. (The “first weekend” TIFF local festivities are a block or two further down the street.) We had flowers for the room, and they did an exceptional job. It’s located in one of the nicest neighborhoods in Toronto with great shopping and restaurants nearby. There was also a Whole Foods a couple blocks away.

I specifically sought out this hotel to propose to my girlfriend. I knew the staff would go above and beyond to help make the day magical for her and they even exceeded my expectations. Maira from concierge was there to assist with all my plans before we arrived and she made sure the rest of the hotel staff were in on my secret and my plans. They were highly professional and really made our trip one to remember. We look forward to coming back for anniversaries in the future.

Another wonderful stay at The Hazelton ended today! One of our very favourite hotels that we’ve had the pleasure of staying at, and it was wonderful to see some familiar faces and some ‘new to us’ faces too. The Hazelton team is exceptional - always friendly, thoughtful, polite, kind and aim to make you feel at home and comfortable. I don’t like to name names because literally every single team member we encountered was excellent and we didn’t get everyone’s name. That said, we did, perhaps, have more interactions with Kateryna, Robert and the sweetest Tugee ! - truly, though, all staff we encountered are thoughtful, considerate and exceptional. From the moment you pull up, as the valet / bellhop / reception service teams all welcome and help get you settled … to the operator, hospitality and room services teams. It is the same consistent experience throughout your stay right to the moment you depart. We loved our stay - and our room - which was perfect and comfortable. We very much appreciated the care and attention to detail on our room preferences (also includes health related requests and dietary restrictions). I dread travelling as it has become extra complicated by such factors, but the Hazelton team makes it all feel more manageable. Also, not sure if I missed it last time, but it was nice / appreciated to see the addition of a chia breakfast parfait on the menu! My husband always enjoys the well-kept pool / steam room area! The only thing that might improve it - is if the hours were longer / later. If we get in past 11:30 some evenings, he would love to avail of it later. I love that you don’t use the giant shampoo / conditioner bottles. I find those to be unsanitary and appreciate the personal ones - it’s one less thing I have to pack. It’s the little touches that make a big difference. Constructively, I think the bath tissue rolls and kleenex could stand to be upgraded for this class of hotel. Also, while I appreciate the hotel brand scent…other hotels, like FS, have it scenting the spa area etc but I don’t notice it on the floors. It is a lovely scent for most, I’m sure, but not great for allergy sufferers. Myself, I have to stay far away and make a mad dash for the elevator. :) We love this hotel for its service team, care and consideration of needs and preferences, hotel and suite cleanliness, respect for privacy, and it is located in a nice area. The Hazelton knows how to balance making guests feel warm and welcomed while respecting guest privacy and preferences during their stay. We look forward to returning! Thank you very much, J & K
