Reviews for Anantara Sahara Tozeur Resort & Villas

Lots of sizzle, not enough steak

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Nice hotel, lobby and grounds were well-kept. Some of the features seemed superficial, eg the electrical outlet came off of the wall when we unplugged our hair dryer, etc. Room was spacious. Restaurant hours / situation was a bit odd. For example, different ethnic restaurants were offered, but not all were open at the same time, some you had to make reservations in advance, etc. We also got pretty bad food poisoning. My husband’s lasted around a month and he had to get secondary treatment and testing back in our home country upon return. There’s a Reddit thread from another guest on this as well. Probably would not book this place again, given the price point and food hygiene concerns.

Luxury, great view romantic, quiet, great value al Mode

Our stay at The Mora Tozeur was not just a staycation, it felt like stepping into a mirage that became real. From the moment the desert started unfolding around us in golden waves, everything slowed down in the most luxurious way. The silence there isn’t empty, it’s rich, warm, almost velvety. And the resort rises from it like something whispered into existence. But what truly turned this escape into something unforgettable were the people. Nizar, our butler, was beyond exceptional. Attentive without hovering, present without intruding, he anticipated details we didn’t even realize we needed. Every small request dissolved before it fully formed. That level of care is rare. A very special mention to Nizar ; he carries warmth like a signature. His attention to detail and the way he engages with guests transforms dinner into an experience, not just a meal. He doesn’t just supervise; he also creates moments. Ahmed, the host, greeted us each time with a smile that genuinely reached his eyes, charm and calm professionalism. And then there was the quiet magic happening behind the scenes. Ragheb welcomed us with such natural hospitality. Imad, always kind and attentive, consistently thoughtful and polished. In addition to all that he was ensuring that everything flowed seamlessly, as if service here runs on instinct rather than instruction. Every sunset felt choreographed. Every breakfast tasted like it had been prepared just for us. The architecture, the endless dunes, the lantern-lit pathways at night, it all feels cinematic, but never staged. The Mora Tozeur isn’t just a destination. It’s a feeling. A deep exhale. A place where luxury meets soul. We arrived for a staycation. We left carrying a piece of the desert in our hearts.

Anantara was superb. I cannot say enough good things about it. The staff was especially friendly and helpful, especially Habib and Taha. This place was a beautiful desert oasis. I will definitely be returning here for another vacation.

Luxury villas, exceptional staff, perfect breakfast service, and a unique peaceful Sahara oasis experience.

The Mora offers a rare combination of luxury, tranquility, and authentic desert atmosphere. We were particularly impressed by the hotel’s concept: an exclusive oasis in a remote Sahara setting, with outstanding facilities and spacious villas equipped to the highest standard. The villas are elegant, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, making the entire stay feel private and relaxing. What distinguishes this hotel most, however, is its exceptional team. The reception staff under the leadership of Front Office Manager Rihab handled everything flawlessly and always with warmth and efficiency. Breakfast service was excellent every day, thanks to Nahed, Amira, and Mouheb, who were attentive, friendly, and welcoming. We would also like to give special recognition to Saddem from Housekeeping, whose thoughtful service was outstanding. Having the terrace fire prepared in the evening and enjoying his room service made our stay even more special. A wonderful luxury experience in the Sahara.
