Our Habitas Tulum

Habitas it's been like a second home to me through the years and their staff like family. Prepaid our visit from September 12th through the 16th. We arrived and we're told there's no electricity no utilities and no guests. Stranded to find another hotel for our stay. Diego gave us his personal phone number and we visited the property during the day for drinks and a pool. Each day I spoke with Diego or the team and they promised that the reservations team was working on our refund. I initiated a challenge back with my payment source as Diego stopped responding to my requests for the refund via WhatsApp. Locals told us that the property has not been paying their suppliers and each day we visited the team told us that there were no guests on property at all. My beef is they have been without utilities and all but closed for a week prior to our arrival and waited until we flew thousands of miles and drove from Cancun to tell us at the gate. We saw several other guests trying to check in and met with the same challenge and sent away. We were told that electricity would be on by Monday and Monday came and went and there was no electricity on Wednesday we were told it could be a week or two. Yet they are still accepting money for reservations and not refunding people once they arrive to find that the hotel is closed. It is alarming that this property which was founded on Grace integrity character mindfulness and being present has resulted to scamming and lying and ruthless theft. At very least they should do the right thing and refund everybody immediately and stop taking reservations. They have shut down their social media and they have been taken off the Habitas General website. We opened a refund request with Priceline and Priceline has been unable to make any contact with anybody at the office and nobody on the property or in the company is returning calls to Priceline. Such an unfortunate demise to a wonderful space. We would have never expected such lack of moral compass from this team. Beware and do not prepay a reservation and if you call prior to your arrival and nobody answers that is a red flag for you to make other accommodations.

A unique experience for couples with excellent service. I highly recommend Diego Popoca’s work. He was attentive to every detail the entire time. Everything was magnificent!

I left a very constructive 3 star review last month which the hotel removed. This makes me wonder how many other non-perfect reviews the hotel have removed. We had some poor experiences and they did very little to help when we were there. Now to see them remove our fair and honest review is very disappointing. Positives: Great food at Moro restaurant, especially breakfast. Great daily activities included such as yoga. Beautiful pool area. Negatives: Many insects in our room - all of the accommodation is tents. My wife woke up with a cockroach crawling over her. We found the price very high for the level of accommodation provided.

Our Habitas is a beautiful, peaceful hotel with wonderful staff and excellent food! We had the most perfect honeymoon thanks to Our Habitas. Free bicycles were a huge plus!

As a solo female traveler from the moment I arrived I felt relaxed and at home. For the next 2 weeks this became my little sanctuary in the jungle. My room was always nice and fresh. The location is close to the center to experience an authentic Mexican night and next to the beach for a relaxing day. Don’t hesitate to go to the front desk. Olivia, Diego and Ricardo will help you with a smile on their face to help you with anything you need. They will help you get to know Tulum in a unique way if you let them. Olivia especially helped me in more ways than one to make my stay here into an experience I will ever forget. Viva Mexico 🇲🇽
