Reviews for Our Habitas Tulum

Not the “Luxury Jungle Experience” Advertised

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

We had booked and prepaid our stay at Habitats Tulum from December 29, 2025 to January 2, 2026, but unfortunately we left after just one night. Upon arrival, the property was difficult to locate as there is no visible signage. Although we were informed there was no parking, there was no possibility at all to stop briefly to unload luggage, as taxis occupied the entrance area. At reception, the staff was unable to confirm our New Year’s Eve dinner reservation, which had been made weeks in advance. Our room was not ready, and we were asked to wait at the restaurant. This place is not really a hotel, but rather a campsite-style accommodation. The « jungle room 31 » was dirty, humid, and poorly maintained. Toilets and showers are outdoors and in very poor condition. The beach area is small and rocky, and the outdoor restaurant was also unclean and neglected. There was no safe in the room (only provided after complaint), and all minibar items were expired and had to be replaced. Sleeping was nearly impossible due to constant noise from the road, nearby hotels, and loud guests. We chose not to ruin the final days of our otherwise wonderful trip to Mexico and checked out early on December 30. The early checkout was received with complete indifference by the staff. In conclusion, for the high price charged for a supposed “luxury jungle experience”, this property is far below expectations and not recommended. Unfortunately, the photos displayed on their website do not match the actual condition and reality of the property.

Very great service, nice spot for relaxing all day. Beautiful pool. Fish tacos were excellent, as were the mescalita cocktails.

Alexis at the restaurant was such a joy. Going to the hotel is it worth it just to be helped by such a wonderful individual.
