In the center of Turin, cradled by Northern Italy's eponymous mountains, NH Collection Turin Piazza Carlina is a gateway to the city's cultural and natural attractions. This hotel, part of the Lifestyle collection by Preferred Hotels & Resorts is warm and inviting, with a color scheme of cream and antique rose. Vibrant hardwood floors and furniture handcrafted by local carpenters lend a modern touch to rooms in this 17th century building, which has a colorful past; it was once home to Antonio Gramsci, co-founder of Italy's Communist Party.

The room was very spacious and comfortable with a great view of the Alps! The staff were both professional and friendly. The hotel is situated in a lovely square close to many of the main sights.

I’m NH Platinum and have stayed in quite a few NH Collections in recent years; normally I’m pretty to very happy but this stay was a miserable one night experience. The property itself seems tired and cheaply appointed throughout. It’s on a busy square with quite a bit of traffic and the windows aren’t properly soundproofed. The interior of the hotel was sweltering when I arrived, as was my room, even though it was extremely cold outside, and the in room thermostat wasn’t working. The room was spacious but worn and extremely dark, almost no lighting, no way to read. The room was on the first floor and turned out to be directly above a late night and early morning delivery area; the noise was so loud that I was woken up twice in the night, the last time for good at 5:30am. Breakfast was very mediocre, unusual for this brand. The assistant manager handled my complaints (with courtesy and to my satisfaction) as the manager didn’t want to speak with me, which I find disrespectful and, frankly, pathetic. Given the condition of this property and associated issues, this hotel needs to rethink its upkeep and management team pronto.

We booked a package holiday for 4 nights via EasyJet arriving Monday 23rd February. We arrived at the hotel about 9.15pm and we also walked from the main train station to the hotel which took us about 20mins in the dark. The walk is easily doable and we felt comfortable and safe whilst doing so and being two females. From check in to check out and my interactions with the front office were excellent with great Customer service. After the first night the pillows weren’t to my liking so I asked to see if they had any softer pillows only to be told they have a pillow menu! I love a hotel with a pillow menu. Within a few minutes, I’d chosen the ones I wanted and they were deliver to my room. Super service. The hotel is gorgeous and has history. Our room was a great size and super clean. The location is also great! We walked everywhere from the hotel and there are some great bars and restaurants minutes away. Breakfast in hotels is usually the weaker link but not here in the slightest. Credit to every single breakfast employee. They’re super friendly and make sure constantly everything is in order, replenished and clean and tidy. They’ve definitely got their eyes on the ball. I’d highly recommend this hotel. Please pass on my thanks to the front office, housekeeping and the breakfast staff….keep doing what you’re doing!

Second time in this hotel and in between I stayed in one of the other Turin hotels in the NH collection. Reception is professional, efficient and helpful. The room was great, good size, very comfortable bed and perfectly clean. Breakfast was comprehensive. Location is very central and convenient for the museums, shops and opera house
