Reviews for Principi di Piemonte

We recommend this hotel with caveats

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 18 hours ago

We thought Principi di Piemonte was a nice hotel with excellent service. Our Diplomatic Suite was very quiet and comfortable with two toilets and 75 square meters (848€ per night with breakfast and parking). We had a desk as well as a table for our laptops, and we enjoyed the space. Silvia Fregga, the Guest Experience Manager, personalized our room and provided us with wonderful fruit, including fresh figs. She also had the chef make us Zabaione, and it was fabulous. Audre really enjoyed the bouquet of flowers she left for us. Our suite had a big open view of the center of Turin and would have had a mountain view too if it hadn't been so hazy. We could identify the Mole Antonelliana building and the former king's doumo (with its spire that, from a distance, looked Thai). The salon/living room had pleasing art and a sofa that was both too deep and too hard for us. Audre liked the burled wood of the furniture and the wood floors looked good. Housekeeping did a good job for us and followed our instructions. The climate control was an annoyance during our stay: we set the temperature at 16°C in the bedroom and it never got cooler than 23°C. That was a little too hot for sleeping comfortably. The hotel sent someone who thought he had fixed it but he had not. The gym/fitness was too hot too, and the universal machine was not to our liking so we walked Turin instead. On the other hand, the Jacuzzi was too cold for us at 32°C. We asked for the temperature to be raised but we were told it could/would not be raised. We were very disappointed. We were able to use the hotel's yoga mats to do our stretching and toning in our suite and that was nice. The breakfast buffet was okay (20€ each); omelets were an annoying extra charge. When we asked, we were brought freshly squeezed orange juice (no extra charge).

Outstanding

Amazing hotel. Fantastic location. Beautiful clean rooms beds were very comfortable and very quiet considering in the centre. Mini bar was very reasonably priced which was a surprise for a 5* hotel. Spa was ok however the water temperature in the pool was quite on the cold side. We will be going back to Turin as it has great shopping and will stay at this hotel. Very close to the main attractions which is what you need as the city is vast.

A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE TO BE AVOIDED

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Hotel’ slogan: “An Experience”! The WORST! As a graduate of the renowned ‘Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne’, and a carrier of 40 years requiring me to travel extensively. I wanted to drop my luggage a main entrance but a cop refused permission. The hotel hosted Vasco Rossi a singer! The Hotel’s car park open to the public 24/7, I took out all our luggage and keep it in the storeroom. The receptionist, charming but inefficient, upgraded me to a relatively small room with a view. Problems: Failing Wi-Fi, empty Kleenex box. TV remote low on batteries. Single ply toilet paper. ADVICE, avoid this hotel.

THE Place to stay in Turin, Italy

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The hotel Prinicipi di Piemonte may well be the best hotel experience we have ever enjoyed. Our flights to Turin from the US were delayed three times and instead of arriving at 10 am on Saturday, we did not arrive to the hotel until 12:30 am the following morning. I kept the hotel staff apprised of our delays, and they were wonderful about it. When we finally arrived, Silvia and colleagues had food and wine waiting for us in our upgraded Jr. Suite; even the Bar was open if we wanted a cocktail (which we didn't at that hour, but that was a great gesture of hospitality). The Reception and Concierge staff were wonderful to us; the bar men, Flavio, Stefano, and Davide took great care of us each evening before we went to dinner. The hotel dining room is excellent! When my wife had a serious accident, slowing us down a bit, the staff were magnificent is taking great care of us. I cannot say enough good things about the friendly professionalism of everyone we encountered at this terrific hotel, which is centrally located in one of Italy's least known, but most fascinating cities. We hope to return to explore more of this generous city and hotel, and encourage you all to try it. You will not regret your choice of this hospitable and outstanding hotel.

First class hotel! A must if you are in Torino

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

What a wonderful hotel! The location is perfect as it’s very central so you can walk to most restaurants. We found many nearby! What really makes this hotel stand out is the first class customer service! Nothing is too much and everything is done with a smile! We stayed in a suite which was very spacious! We told the hotel we had a baby and they promptly provided us a baby bath and cot which our daughter loved! Anything we needed they were on hand to provide. I can’t speak more highly of this hotel and anytime I’m in Torino we will be staying here!

My wife and I stayed at the Principi di Piemonte. The room, service and amenities were excellent. The staff anticipated our arrival as Luxury Link clients and treated us with the utmost courtesy. The hotel's location is perfect. The value of this package is exceptional. We'll be back.
