We chose Turnberry for a two night break after a recommendation and we were not disappointed. From the moment we made our reservation to the moment we left (and beyond) the service was exemplary. The resort is spotlessly clean, attention to detail was clear and the rooms and public areas equipped with everything we could need. Without exception everyone we encountered was warm and friendly, utterly professional and took a genuine interest in us. What a breath of fresh air. Whilst we didn’t use the spa we did take the opportunity to look around and will certainly use it on our next trip. Our room was spacious with ample storage and pleasant decor. The bathroom had everything we needed and the almost silent heating system was responsive and efficient. The selection of goods at the breakfast buffet was outstanding and the cooked options we chose delicious and piping hot. Service was impeccable and the champagne on offer a very nice touch. We dined in the Hotel one evening and at the clubhouse the next. Both couldn’t have been better. It’s nice to see a historic building which has been updated for the current day without losing sight of its beginnings. The artefacts on display along the walls en route to the spa were fascinating and very refreshing that the current owners have embraced the history rather than ignoring it. Simply faultless, we will return soon.

We have stayed at the hotel many times over the years but last few visits haven’t been great. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are very friendly but the service in the main lounge is shocking. You have to go looking for someone to get a drink and the wait for food is awful. Dinner in the main dining area the next night wasn’t great, limited menu and nothing special for the prices they charge. The golf here is wonderful, breakfast is good and the view is magnificent but it just doesn’t compare to Gleneagles. No atmosphere at nighttime. I also object to being subjected to pictures of the owner everywhere and the MAGA hats are offensive. I don’t think we will be back here.

Attended the hotel today for an afternoon tea. When we arrived we found the place to be quite busy which I was surprised at. This didn’t affect us we had book and we were seated quite promptly. We had a great table at the window with an amazing view. We ordered the afternoon tea which was served and the food was very nice. The major issue was the service. Waited 45 mins on our tea arriving. Was left eating food with nothing to drink. I am not sure if it was the amount of staff working that meant they couldn’t keep up with orders or they were just slow and useless.

Today enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea a gift from my son and his partner. It was just delightful from start to finish. Staff were extremely welcoming and helpful throughout our visit. Food and service first class. Great present for anyone. Standard of hotel is exceptional.

Went for afternoon tea on the same day as a big wedding and we had a poor experience. Food was very good but the service was not good. Took ages for our drinks then had to keep asking for more tea and our scones. We were not told when we booked that our tea had to be finished by 5.00 pm so only had a2 hour slot considering the slow service that was not acceptable. Staff were so busy ironing the tablecloths on the other tables to see that we were waiting on being looked after. Not what you expect from a hotel of this standard.
