Had booked here last year for a luxury night, it was perfect so just had to return. I would like to bullitt point all the positives first on this trip as it wasn't perfect this time but have to say we still had a wonderful time. I feel management needs to look at why the hotel was so quiet this time and my review might give them some insight if they don't already know. The room we were given was some size like a suite although it was a de luxe king room, room 219. The bathroom was fantastic with 2 sinks! The shower and WC were separate which was a bonus the underfloor heating in bathroom was superb. The room was furnished beautifully the bed comfy and lovely bed linen. Coffee machine, complimentary toiletries, bath robe, slippers, turn down and chocs at night, bottled water. The spa was tremendous and the food in the Grand Tea Lounge & Bar was delicious. The arrival was nice the car was taken and parked and our luggage brought to the room, no doubt about how welcome we felt. I received on arrival the gold coin which was positioned on a cushion with a whisky miniature nice touch, and I was honoured again to get given this. I had to choose the best service from a member of staff. I chose Abi from the spa as she went out of her way to help me with the locker and I felt it's quite likely the spa staff don't get as much recognition as others. The breakfast was incredible and could not be faulted. I would like to mention Leo who was excellent and I had considered him for the gold coin. The other person on duty was a young woman never got her name but again superb service . I had champagne breakfast and it was superior. Leo boxed up my pastries as I couldn't finish, they were boxed in such a lovely box too! So now the negative. On arrival last year we were greeted by Gary ( absolutely fantastic presence in his welcome to the hotel) who presented us with shortbread which was a lovely touch, this time no shortbread however when I did mention this to Madison at check out she did in fact say there actually is still shortbread but it's help yourself and under a silver lid which we never noticed nor were told about unfortunately. Then when Madison was checking us in they had us assigned to a twin room, she then had a look and advised yes I see you have actually booked a de luxe king. This was sorted quickly. We were given key to the room and no escort this time to the room which disappointed us as that was a really nice touch and the hotel wasn't busy so don't know why they have stopped this. We arrived at the room and delighted other than no fridge or mini bar as advertised on their website so we asked for a fridge as needed one and this was brought to our room pretty quickly by 2 very nice chaps. I had noticed the room was dusty and a fly on the window sill, so I told them about this and they were happy to sort this out for us. They said they would send up the housekeeping when we were out for dinner. I believe what happened here is the room had been cleaned possibly a week or two ago and dust had gathered meantime. Otherwise the room was perfect. We had been to the spa which was amazing and I was getting ready for dinner. I needed two sockets one for hairdryer and one for straighteners, couldn't believe my luck when one of the sockets was broken! (There was no time to get this sorted out as table booked for 8) Struggled a bit but managed, at the same time I asked my hubby can I have more light in the room I can't see to do my make up, he switched on the ceiling lights and they started flickering and then broke!! Not great. We reported it all prior to leaving for dinner. We then went for our meal. Now last year Trump was doing a fantastic deal £299 dbb including 3 course meal in 1906 restaurant. This year it had increased to £399 including credit £100! Now credit in 1906 of £100 won't go far , lucky if you can get 2 courses each for that and menu very limited as only one mains we could have eaten so this time we opted for The Grand Tea Lounge and Bar, however there is no comparison as 1906 is far superior surroundings, service and food certainly last year. had calculated if we had 2 courses in 1906 plus our room booking it would have cost us close on £500! Compare this to last year it's no wonder the place was empty. There were only 3 other tables filled at breakfast and compared to the same date last year the place was jumping so I am sure a lot of people just felt it was unaffordable now. At check out I did mention to Madison that we got a lovely wee chocolate trump card cake sitting in our room, but not this time why is that? She advised it should have been transferred from our original room to the new room assigned to us, so this was disappointing. In the Grand Tea Lounge and Bar I had asked Alfie if I could have my cider in a gin bowl but it came in an ordinary glass I didn't mention it until we were leaving when I spoke with Boyd who explained they don't have gin bowls this really surprised me for a bar such as this and as albeit Alfie's service was excellent he should have mentioned this then I wouldn't think he had forgotten. All in all we had a fantastic time and would return to see if Trump Turnberry can be just as excellent as it was January 2025. Wonderful hotel, staff are so friendly and helpful and really make U feel at home. Due to our minor issues we had the staff took this on board and fixed the lights in the room, housekeeping had our room like a palace including a lovely bottle of bubbly on ice placed by Boyd and some beautiful hand made chocolates, very nice gesture of goodwill and we felt heard. Thank you for a wonderful stay and thanks to all the staff .

This really should be a 4 but the staff were exceptional and therefore tipped it. From Graham and Tony on the entrance to madison on reception and others in the bar and at breakfast we received fantastic service. Through Amex we received an upgrade and the room was beautiful - little touches to welcome us and super comfy bed and pillows made for a great nights sleep. Breakfast was fabulous on the Saturday with an incredible buffet and champagne and a Bloody Mary; Sunday was al a carte so less choice The disappointment came in that the water wasn’t hot enough for a bath and there was a couple of minor housekeeping issues when we arrived. The spa was disappointing - the jacuzzi and thermal suite were out of order which we weren’t made aware of…… We had a fabulous couple of days and walked to the lighthouse and along the beach - both not far but lovely all the same. I would definitely recommend a stay and will be back at some point

The hotel interior and exterior seems wow but nothing else is. 1906 restaurant is over priced and disappointing don’t waste your money

Just back from 2 night stay at this amazing hotel. Everything was perfect, from the initial greeting at front entrance, then at hotel lobby, car parking service and beautiful hotel. I can't praise this place enough. The breakfast and staff were totally amazing. I will certainly be back to this beautiful hotel.

Stayed overnight 20/12/25 for party night. 4 of us. Service, rooms and party fantastic. Down side was the food. The soup starter was fab. Main course - turkey roulade, and all the trimmings was awful. Turkey was dry and tasteless, the veg was brick hard and inedible. Cheesecake was also flavourless and the base was solid. Thankfully we all had a decent lunch at the Fairfield hotel in Ayr that afternoon. We have all had dinner at the 1906 restaurant previously and it was beautiful, therefore we had high expectations. However, would never go back when the food is cooked for a vast number of people like that night. Ann Boyd
