Set amidst a breathtaking 21-acre property, the hotel is a perfect blend of timeless elegance, stunning surroundings, and world-class hospitality. But what truly made our experience exceptional was the warmth, dedication, and personalized service of the incredible team. A very special mention to Sahil Chhabra from the Butler Team, who delivered truly high-touch, impeccable service throughout our stay. His attentiveness, warmth, and ability to anticipate every little need made us feel genuinely cared for. His service added so much to our experience and turned our stay into one of our most cherished memories. Ankit Kumar, FB Manager, deserves a special appreciation as well. He went above and beyond to ensure that we had the best culinary experience. From the scrumptious meals across the restaurants to personally helping us decide the menu and making sure every detail was taken care of, his personal attention and genuine hospitality stood out beautifully. And then there was Sammer, our Baggi driver, who made exploring the magnificent property so much fun! He took us around to some of the most beautiful and photogenic spots across the sprawling 21 acres, and to top it all, he had an amazing eye for photography and happily helped us capture some wonderful memories along the way. 📸 Raffles Udaipur is undoubtedly a beautiful property, but it is the people who bring the magic to life. My husband and I recently stayed at Raffles Udaipur for a quiet family getaway. Overall, it is a strikingly beautiful property with exceptional team members. However, for a luxury hotel, there are a few key areas—particularly arrival logistics, event management, property upkeep, and strict dietary execution—that need attention. The Positives & Exceptional Staff * Stunning Grounds & Unique Touches: The property design is magnificent. The reception deck offers breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding hills. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time at the Writer’s Bar, relaxing in the tented outdoor seating near the Long Bar, and sitting on the swing in our room’s garden area. Small touches like the evening aarti, live flute music during breakfast, the organic farm, and calming lavender tea in the room made our time special. * Well-Maintained Amenities: The gym, steam, sauna, and pool facilities were great. I particularly appreciated the helpful gym staff and the fruit-infused water provided near the wellness areas. * Standout Service: Our butler, Dipinder, was outstanding—proactive, attentive, and genuinely caring throughout our stay, especially when I fell ill. F&B Manager Ankit and Chef Sandeep also deserve praise for being prompt, receptive to feedback, and actively trying to improve our experience. Areas for Improvement & Constructive Feedback * Arrival Experience: Upon arriving at the shore-side entrance in the peak afternoon heat, we had to wait in an uncovered area because life jackets weren't immediately available. Providing a shaded, organized waiting space for boat transfers would make a much better first impression. * Pigeon Problem & Maintenance: The property seems to have a widespread pigeon problem. Pigeon droppings were noticeable in many areas across the hotel, but they were particularly heavy around our room's outdoor sit-out lawn area. Additionally, the pillared passage leading to the poolside had a persistent, unpleasant stench that disrupted an otherwise beautiful walkway. * Private Event Disruption: A large private engagement party was hosted during our stay. The peace of our breakfast was completely disrupted by loud ceremonial drums, and staff were constantly moving setup furniture and decor through guest areas. If the property hosts large private events, they should either restrict individual bookings or manage logistics better so other paying guests don't feel like they are in the middle of someone else's function. I've added photos to show the labor movement and temporary seating that made it seem like we were in the midst of a private event. Dietary Safety & Dining Journey Having medically necessary dietary requirements, I reached out days in advance with a detailed protocol and even brought my own safe gluten-free flour. However, the dining experience had a rocky start and mixed execution: * Initial Disorganization: On Day 1, despite prior assurances, the duty chef was unaware of my options that would be safe or pronlematic. While the team prepared some high-tea items, dinner was disappointing as there was no clear plan for safe meals. * First Turnaround & Oversight: After sharing feedback with Ankit, the team created a customized menu for Day 2. However, at breakfast, I was served a dosa with sambar that contained hing (an unsafe ingredient for me). Executive Chef apologized, and we reiterated how critical strict protocols are. * Improved Service: Following this, Chef Sandeep and the team took our feedback very seriously. The quality, variety, and safety of our subsequent meals improved significantly. * Sickness & Recovery Care: Unfortunately, on Day 3, I suffered a severe gluten reaction and fell ill. While I cannot pinpoint the exact source given how attentive the chefs were by then, it was an unfortunate setback. During this time, the team stepped up graciously—providing simple recovery meals like clear chicken soup, apple stew, and khichdi, as well as a packed gluten-free sandwich for our travel back home. Final Thoughts Raffles Udaipur has all the elements of a world-class retreat, and the team's willingness to listen and adapt is commendable. However, for a hotel of this caliber, dietary protocols need to be airtight from Day 1 rather than reactive, and private events should not compromise the serene experience of other guests. Thank you to Dipinder, Chef Sandeep, Ankit, and the team for their warmth and effort throughout our stay. I truly appreciate their efforts.

Amazing stay. We had a very warm welcome by Mr Aniket, and were transferred by a boat to the main lobby for check in. Everything was very smooth. The rooms are huge, brilliant and well mantained. The breakfast spread is huge with some outstanding service. Mr Anand who played the flute during breakfast time was very soothing. Loved the well manicured lawns. The lake view from the room was mesmerising. The ritual of Aarti in the evening at 7.00 Pm is mesmerising.

What an amazing stay. From the moment your car pulls into the dock you can tell you have arrive somewhere special. Once you take the boat across to the island the visuals are breathtaking. The vast knowledge the team has about the property is impressive. We felt very well accomodate upon arrival and Priya made us feel right at home. The rooms were amazing but the true star was the service. It truly felt as though we had been welcomed into someone’s home. Most of all we wanted to highlight Dinki’s phenomenal service. It’s very clear that she has a true passion for hospitality. Her warmth is genuine and our trip would not have been the same without her. I look forward not only to returning to the raffles but also reconnecting with Dinki someday. As someone who has worked in the hospitality industry for a couple years, someone like Dinki is exactly the type of person you want on your team and representing your brand. We could not stop singing her praises enough. I truly hope to return to the Raffles Udaipur.

We recently stayed at Raffles Udaipur and had a wonderful time exploring this unique island property. Arriving by boat immediately sets a exclusive, serene tone for the vacation. We booked a Plunge Pool Room, which was hands-down the absolute best part of our entire vacation. The room was incredibly luxurious, private, and spending hours by our own personal plunge pool looking out at the scenery was pure bliss. The privacy and comfort of the room layout are truly world-class. However, we felt the dining experience did not quite live up to the high standards of the Raffles brand. The buffet food fell short of our expectations and could have been better in terms of variety and flavor. For a luxury property of this caliber, we expected the culinary execution to match the spectacular setting. Overall, it is a magnificent island escape with breathtaking rooms, but a smoother, higher-quality buffet experience would make it absolutely flawless.
