This was the first time my husband and I stayed here. A few of our friends in NY and LA have raved about it so we decided to go. We were on business in New Delhi so the flight was only 30 minutes and 2 gentlemen picked us up, the driver and the other gentleman gave us a very good overview of the facility. The entire staff is very smart and want to make your visit pleasant. Starting with the arrival at the palace, the spa manager knows EVERY treatment and picked the perfect ones for us, the chef will make you anything you want, housekeeping is super happy and always available. We had treatments that you can only find in India and the fascial was special. The menu is around 8 pages and has western food besides those from India. There is also wine and liquor available. A must is to go to the blessing of the river in Rishikesh, you hire the driver from the hotel and ask them to book the guide Dennis! I hired Dennis to take me on the hike because I did not want to leave at 7am with the group which was only 7 people. They have lectures for one hour twice daily and the topics are always interesting. I highly rec if you want to go alone. There were about 9 people on their own and it's extremely comfortable. The place is GREAT

Ananda in the Himalayas is a most fabulous spa and retreat. The location is spectacular looking down on Rishikesh and the spa facilities and staff are truly outstanding. From the moment of welcome and check in, to the adoption of the flowing white kurtas, to our first experiences in the restaurant and spa, every aspect of our stay was perfect from start to finish. We spent five nights in this very special place and enjoyed every moment. We were in India to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary and these five nights were a high spot. We got to know Chef Ashish quite well during our stay and he constantly surprised us with his creations. One night we had a wonderful thali, compromising only local specialties made with locally sourced ingredients. It was spectacular. On our last evening we were treated to a private 50th wedding anniversary dinner celebration which was unforgettable. We cannot speak highly enough of the restaurant serving staff and kitchen staff who all helped to make our stay unforgettable.

I am just leaving Ananda after spending 21 days in the Panchakarma program. I decided on this program in pursuit of the physical changes- the rejuvenation and detoxification. But this experience was equally if not more about the mental detox. Dr Naresh constructed a personalized 3 week program that was both comforting and challenging in all the right ways. I cannot express my gratitude enough to the entire Ananda team for their meticulous care that extended through every aspect of the experience. As someone who has not experienced such next level hospitality, it was an adjustment on my end to feel comfortable RECEIVING this level of care. To the restaurant team, thank you for the exceptional care day in and day out. Special special thanks to Nidhi!! A few more thank you’s to the staff: Swati, your personalized meditation sessions were absolutely life changing. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I would return to Ananda just to experience a session with you again. Renju, Aleema and Lakshmi, you carry extraordinary skills as Ayurvedic therapists and it was a highlight of my day when I had a session with you. And front desk manager Diyva— thank you for going out of your way to ensure my comfort as a young solo woman. Couldn’t have made it through without you! Is it expensive? Yes? Is it absolutely worth it? YES!

From the moment you arrive, the hospitality at Ananda is exceptional. A special mention to Soumya, whose warmth, care, and attention to detail made this stay even more memorable. He truly made us feel at home. The personalisation was remarkable—they took care of even the smallest of needs without us having to ask. The therapies were excellent, especially the acupuncture and sound healing sessions, which were the absolute highlights of the trip. The trekking activity was beautifully curated. A big shoutout to Dinesh Singh, our trek guide, who was knowledgeable, encouraging, and made the experience both fun and meaningful. Ananda is the perfect blend of wellness, luxury, and connection—with nature, with self, and with the most thoughtful team. Can’t wait to return! Best, Namita Thapar

Ananda in the Himalayas is an outstanding property that I have visited multiple times. It is hard to replicate its unique mix of location, quality, service, therapies and ambience. It is definitely one of the most spectacular and unforgettable spas in the world.
