This is a lovely hotel. Unfortunately I had an important video call that I needed to take during my trip, and I found out mid-stay that there was no place for me to take it. I had to ask my spouse stay with the kids in their room, which was unfortunate. Otherwise, we had a nice stay.

We stayed at The Hythe Vail for three nights and had over ten thousand dollars worth of personal property stolen directly from our locked hotel room. This included an Apple Vision Pro, a Chanel bag, and ski goggles. The items were not left out. They were inside zipped bags in our luggage. The in-room safe was too small to accommodate them, which is unacceptable for a hotel charging luxury prices. Someone went into our bags and selectively took high-value items. No one had access to our room except hotel staff. What is truly unbelievable is that after the fact, the hotel somehow determined that there was only one possible person who entered our room on all three days who could have taken the items. Amazing how quickly that conclusion was reached. Even more alarming, there are no cameras in the hallways. For a so-called luxury hotel, the complete lack of basic security infrastructure is shocking. The response from management was dismissive and devoid of urgency. There was no accountability, no meaningful investigation, and no concern for the seriousness of what happened. Being robbed inside your own hotel room is violating. Being treated like it is an inconvenience rather than a crime is infuriating. This hotel charges over two thousand dollars per night while offering motel-level security and a total lack of regard for guest safety. I have stayed in hotels all over the world and have never experienced anything like this. Not once. If you value your belongings or your peace of mind, do not stay here. Paying luxury prices only to be stolen from and brushed off afterward is an absolute disgrace. This is not a luxury hotel. It is an unsafe property that does not protect its guests.

We just stayed 2 nights to celebrate my 50th birthday and Charlie from the Concierge arranged with my husband to surprise me with a bottle of wine and beautiful room decorations. We booked a Mountain View balcony room and we very much enjoyed our view of the slopes both pre snow and during the 1st snow of the season. It was magical! On our first night we had a light dinner at Revel and took advantage of the whiskey tasting and s’mores. The location cannot be beat. Every employee at the restaurants was very friendly and attentive. The only negative had to do with our interactions with Simmon the front desk employee. He kept calling us on our cellphone and room phone alleging the credit card on file had failed. He ruined our last evening at the hotel. We later confirmed with another front desk employee that there was no issue. It seems he needs training not only with the credit card system, but on how to communicate with guests. This is the 1st time in 30 years we have been married and traveling that this has happened to us anywhere in the world. Even today, both of our credit cards still show several pending charges even though it was already charged and posted on our Marriott and credit card accounts. We are Titanium members who travel quite a bit and we have never encountered such a weird and annoying attitude.

Cannot speak highly enough about Susan from the coffee shop! She was so kind and professional and made everyone in our family very happy with their drinks. We would come back just to see her again! Thanks for making our stay that much more memorable.

Really nice hotel. We took a last minute trip here from Denver to see the fall colors. The resort fee and parking fee (totaling more than $130 after tax, per day) are just absurdly high for what the hotel offers but that’s all we had to pay due to a great redemption rate and a 50k free night certificate. Looking at it from that perspective it was a deal- not crowded, no wait for anything, had the pool to ourselves all night, beautiful view from the room, and the staff was great. We’re only Gold level with Bonvoy but they gave us an amazing room, late check out, free breakfast, and the smores and whiskey tasting were great. Would recommend this hotel highly to folks looking to use free night certificates, but can’t recommend it otherwise due to the cost and the added resort and parking fees.
