Corporate Doctor CE Retreat

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We hosted our first annual doctor led CE retreat at The Lodge at Vail, and I truly could not have asked for a better place to bring our vision to life. The idea for this retreat actually came from our doctors. After an equity partner trip, they told us how much they valued the community and connection and wanted to create something similar where they could invite other doctors to learn and connect together. I told them, “You pick the location and the speaker, and I will do everything I can to make it happen.” They chose Vail and The Lodge at Vail, and they chose well! We hosted 15 doctors, spouses, sponsors, and our speaker for a weekend centered around education, community, and connection beyond the chair. From start to finish, The Lodge at Vail made hosting a corporate event easy. Callie, our event director, was wonderful to work with, and Mae was attentive, kind, and made sure our entire CE day flowed beautifully with food, drinks, and everything we needed. Even when we had discrepancies with hotel rooms and dates, the team worked with us to find solutions and make modifications. That is what you want when you are responsible for bringing a large group together. Things will change. You want a team that helps you solve them. The location is beautiful, the town is walkable, and everything allowed our doctors to spend more time together, which was really the entire point. One travel tip I would give future groups is to consider flying directly into Vail when possible. Colorado weather can make the drive from Denver unpredictable, which we definitely experienced! Overall, I would absolutely recommend The Lodge at Vail for a corporate retreat, educational event, or team experience. We came to Vail to learn, connect, and build community, and this was a beautiful home base to do exactly that.

Laid at the pool and drank matcha all day, it was my favorite day in Vail. Everyone that works at The Lodge was so sweet and helpful our whole stay.

Needs some TLC

This is a very tired lodge. On the upside, the staff were lovely to work with, the grounds are impeccable, and the location is superb. We had a spa suite. There was no cold water during our stay, only warm / hot. Taking a shower was tricky, and we had to obtain cold water from a water station they had at the hotel. Our room had climate control that did not work. During our stay the temperature was 80 degrees which got warm in the room during the day, evening. Others we spoke to discussed their system being so loud and clanky they just turned it off, and dealt with the heat. During our stay the elevator was out of service on and off. It may be they were completing maintenance on it? It truly is such a lovely location, that if it were maintained better it would be a great place to stay.

Had the best time, in the best location, at the best resort! And a resort it was. I felt so well taken care of, and pampered here. A really beautiful facility, right in the heart of it all, with an incredibly welcoming staff, and the most lovely rooms! Also - best hotel gym I've been to in a long time. Thank you so much!
