Check your plane ticket: Sonnenalp Hotel is located just outside of Vail Village, but the décor may make you think you landed in Germany instead. The four-generations-old ski lodge excels at creating a cozy, comfortable environment for guests returning from a day on the slopes (the lodge enjoys exclusive access to the ski concierge at Gondola 1) – rooms are decked out in old-school plaid, with custom-made Bavarian furniture, gas log fireplaces, and heated marble floors. Biomat can be added to a range of massage treatments to soothe sore muscles with far infrared heat and prepare the body for the next day's fresh powder.

Best hotel experience!
Fantastic stay at Sonnenalp. The hotel is stunning and one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed at. I cleaned for a living and I can't help but notice when things are not cleaned. I'm sure this hotel would pass a white glove inspection. The breakfast was wonderful. Since we went during mud season (slow season) they no longer had the buffet option but they did give us a $84 credit ($42 dollars person) toward the breakfast, which was delicious. Staff was so attentive and friendly, and the Spa was amazing. Would stay here again and again.

A true getaway
This is a review about how my husband and I regretted not staying here this year. We stayed at the Sonnenalp last fall, for our annual getaway, and absolutely loved it. It felt so cozy and romantic. For some reason, we thought we would try another resort this year. We truly regretted not choosing the Sonnenalp again. It can be difficult to get away as parents with small children, so you want your trip to be special and memorable. The Sonnenalp delivered on that when we did get to stay there. It is such a special place: so comfortable, beautiful, and just a gem of a resort. Looking forward to staying here next time!

a birthday & engagement destination!
my favorite hotel in the world! we go every year for my birthday in October and it is so special. service is always amazing, the staff are some of the nicest people you will meet. rooms are cozy and clean. food is excellent. we will continue this tradition forever! plus we got ENGAGED this year near the river at the hotel. thank you!
