Abadia Retuerta LeDomaine

Gorgeous property, impeccably restored 12th century abbey 2 hours from Madrid. We were there as a family with 20 year old twins, but is mostly couples. Highlights: The bar is stunning and you can eat there as well, for a more casual meal. We had a tour of the property and a wine tasting with Miguel Angel, who was a fabulous enthusiastic ambassador, worth doing! The hotel can arrange taxi service to Valladolid, which we did as we did not rent a car. Lovely place to walk around for a couple of hours in the old city, and lunch at Villa Paramesa, which the hotel reserved and was delicious. Also recommend lunch at Asador Carlos for the lechazo and salad and setas if in season. We were the only tourists. A special shout out to Jhoan, who was amazing at putting things together for us, super helpful, and infinitely patient when I changed my mind. I would love to go in October or April/May when a bit warmer so we could bike and hike as there are many places within an hour to hike.

Wonderful accommodation with one exception foam layer on top of mattress made for a hot night !! Only worked it out too late. Quality in every respect throughout the building and renovations seamless. Staff excellent Tasting menu was the best we have ever had in our lives . Estate Wine decent but not exceptional although expect improvement with ageing. Spa very relaxing although could not get our heads around Sommelier massage, maybe a language problem!!

I chose Abadia Retuerta for my birthday celebration and I’m so happy with that decision! Gorgeous setting, comfortable room with a dreamy bed, amazingly kind staff and topped off by a wonderful birthday dinner at Refectorio. I even received a second birthday cake at breakfast. This was our second visit and we will come back again and again. Thank you to all for making my birthday so special!

Can’t say enough about this 12th century abbey turned luxurious retreat. The setting is serene—what’s not to love about being in the middle of thousands of acres of vineyards?? There are antiques from the 16th century scattered throughout the property. Refectorio, the restaurant is stunning and puts a top quality product (disclosure, we only had breakfast but if they can fix the perfect eggs Benedict like they did, I can only imagine what they do with dinner!!). The rooms are beautifully appointed and the service is attentive in every way possible. The spa provided the needed refresh. The weather didn’t cooperate so we were unable to use the bikes to explore the property. Next time!!!

This is absolutely one of the best hotels in the world. It is in a splendidly refurbished monastery. Everything is magnificent. Art from medieval times is displayed throughout. The setting is extraordinary, away from the road in complete silence. The staff were all very, very helpful. There is a Michelin star restaurant, the Refectorio. We have visited Michelin 1, 2, and 3 star restaurants the world over. This ranks with the best. The food and wine service must be experienced to be believed. The casual restaurant, the Vinoteca was excellent as well. The staff were super, friendly and knowledgeable. The facility is located a short way from the Abadia Retuerta tasting facility and wine cellar. If you lack a car their is transport for the few minutes journey. The tasting and tour are wonderful. There is one place my wife and I want to return to: Abadia Retuerta Le Domaine
