About the Hotel

Located in Downtown Vancouver, this boutique hotel features beautifully-furnished rooms, each with a private balcony. Founded by Greek-born Eleni Skalbania, this family owned property is now managed by her younger daughter, Elpie Marinakis, who has the same passion for hospitality. This Vancouver boutique hotel offers 83 uniquely appointed Guestrooms and Suites, a tranquil day Spa, elegant event rooms for private meeting and parties. The award-winning Bacchus Restaurant and Lounge attention to detail is immediately apparent. You are instantly surrounded by luxury, with richly upholstered furniture, warm, dark cherry wood, and Murano crystal fixtures imported from Venice personally by Eleni herself. A large canvas depicting Bacchus himself, Greek god of wine and revelry, presides over the lounge, the site of Vancouver’s most popular cocktail hour. A favorite spot of locals and celebrities.

Reviews for Wedgewood Hotel & Spa

Felt like family

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 11 hours ago

As we pulled into the reserved street parking spot, we were greeted by the kindest person who immediately retreated luggage to our room and valeted our car while we checked in. Staff knew our name, our plans, and hosted us like family. Room was spacious, luxurious, and incredibly comfortable. Each time we adventured out, staff noted and replaced towels, water or completed turndown services with cookies. We enjoyed drinks at the bar, had a spa appointment, and requested help with a night out and no matter our need, staff was so attentive. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Perfect stay!

This was our first time visiting Vancouver and I am SO glad I chose Wedgewood Hotel. I have literally zero negative feedback, this place is perfect. It is a great, central location and the accommodations were perfect. The room was not only spacious, but so cozy, well-appointed ( I have NEVER, anywhere in the world stayed in any hotel that is so generous with hangers!!), and the beds are incredibly comfortable. My highest compliments though go to the staff. They by far have the friendliest staff we have encountered (tied with Florence). Every single person that helped us was so friendly, kind and immensely helpful. A big shout-out to Jordan, he was our parking valet for our stay and such an incredibly nice guy.

100% excellent!

The Wedgewood is an outstanding hotel in all areas. The accommodations are beautiful, as is the lobby area. Everything is spotless. Perhaps the very best part of our stay there though was the very warm, friendly and welcoming staff. Everyone was eager to be helpful all the time. Highly recommend!

Our GoTo Boutique Hotel for 30 Years, and Still the Best in Vancouver

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Tom and Anna from Vancouver. We just spent the May long weekend at the Wedgewood on a staycation, and after 30 years of returning to this hotel, we feel like we owe it an honest review. We have travelled internationally and locally for most of our lives, my background as a business executive and Anna's as a professional manager. We have stayed in a lot of hotels. The Wedgewood is the one we tell everyone about. It is our GoTo boutique hotel in the city, and a staycation here is exactly the kind of escape that makes sense right now when costs are up and time is short. Value is exceptional. What sets this hotel apart is the guest to staff ratio and the quality of the people. Every detail is looked after. The valet greeted us warmly the moment we pulled up. At the front desk, Ryan met us by name with a smile, was genuinely attentive, and worked some magic to get us checked in early with a few extra benefits. He gave us his card and asked us to call him directly the next time we come back. That kind of relationship is not something you find at chain hotels. One small moment stayed with me. I was heading down to the restrooms, and a young lady from the hospitality team passed me on the stairs and said hello. At the bottom there is a split, men to one side, women to the other, and I started turning the wrong way. From the top of the stairs I heard, "To the left, sir." She had stopped, turned around, and checked on me. That is the level of training and care at this hotel. I have not seen it anywhere else. The restrooms were five star and appeared so clean I realized someone came to keep them tidy often, not like other hotels on a schedule of long intervals resulting on wet floors and dirty surroundings. Our suite looked out over the city and the gardens across the street, beautiful light, calm before the World Cup crowds arrive in a few weeks. The wraparound patio off the suite had a wrought iron chair that became our favourite spot. We sat out there in robes the next morning with coffee, sun on our faces, watching the city wake up. The soaker tub got a proper use on checkout morning, coffee in hand, bright sunlight pouring in, the view still ours for another hour. We received a silver platter with fresh baked cookies, fine chocolates and filtered water in a glass bottle quietly without fanfare as it was left on the table speaking "welcome" to use when we walked in. Bacchus Lounge is our favourite lounge in Vancouver. The decor is something to sit with, deep burgundy velvet tufted banquettes, dark wood, polished brass, an enormous floral centrepiece, the curved bar behind it stocked floor to ceiling. The whole room feels like a painting you can step into. (notes of the decor connect throughout the entire hotel property). The large wood-trimmed windows fold open accordion style, and you can sit inside with a cocktail and feel the street air, watch people pass on Hornby, just like being in Europe. We had cocktails, small plates, talked, read, and let the afternoon go. That is the kind of place Bacchus is. The continental breakfast at checkout was excellent. The digital app for check in and check out is seamless and saves time, a small thing that adds up. The entry to the hotel says everything you need to know before you even walk in. The deep blue awning, the Relais & Chateaux plaque, the brass Wedgewood marker at 845. Simple enough for us, elegant enough for royalty. We recommend the hotel, the spa, the dining room, and Bacchus Lounge without reservation. This is a staycation we will do again, and Ryan will be hearing from us when we book the next one.

A gem among hotels

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

The Wedgewood is a gem among hotels that you wish every hotel was and that you cannot find anywhere else. From the moment you walk in, you feel the difference that comes from a place built with care rather than a brand standard. Our Deluxe Suite with two beds was beautiful — warm, personal, filled with engravings of hunting scenes. It was thoughtfully appointed, and felt like a home rather than a hotel room. Bacchus is extraordinary—dining there was a genuine pleasure — unhurried, beautifully served, and delicious in the way that only happens when a kitchen actually cares. But the heart of the Wedgewood experience is its people. Melvin Ky, Chef Concierge, is simply exceptional. He sent us to a Kipling-inspired speakeasy with a passphrase, arranged a surprise that made my dearest friend feel genuinely celebrated, and responded to every request with warmth, taste, and quiet brilliance. The front desk team matched him at every turn — gracious, attentive, and genuinely present. This hotel has soul. I will return with people I love.
