This is an upscale hotel situated inside Vancouver airport , close to the USA bound departing flights check in . We had an early flight so decided to stay there. It is expensive when compared to alternatives in Richmond, but since it allowed me to return a car rental a day early, not pay for parking, not wait for a shuttle to the airport or pay for a taxi there and sleep an extra 30 minutes I thought it was ok. The check in was fast , the room had a view of the airplanes , but no noise at all. It had 2 great queen beds, an enormous bathroom with separate shower and a bathtub, a good Nespresso coffee machine, very subtle AC . The restaurant in the hotel is pricey, but you have many cheaper options by walking to the airport food court . I would probably return here.

A pleasant surprise. We experienced the Gold lounge and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was nice not having to leave the floor as food was served just down the hallway. Canapes are served, and they are quite filling. The selection was very good and very convenient. We choose to stay at the Fairmount upon our arrival after a long day of traveling. It was a nice way to unwind and relax before hitting the city the next day. It was convenient to fly in, get our luggage, and go upstairs to our hotel. Highly recommended. The rooms offer views of the runway, and that was a treat watching the planes land. The windows are soundproof, and the rooms are extremely quiet. The room was very comfortable, had a telescope, and had great blackout shades . The bathroom was well appointed, and the Rosewood products were delightful. I would definitely stay at the Fairmount again.

Stayed two days prior to a cruise and one day after. What a treat. I was traveling with an elderly family member. Our flight coming in was delayed almost two hours. It was so nice to just get there, walk a few hundred feet and be in our room. It is more expensive than some are willing to pay, but you have to weigh the pros and cons. The tradeoff was that I didn't have to look for a taxi, uber or shuttle at midnight to reach an offsite hotel in a strange city. The rooms are clean and modern. The staff is friendly, helpful and efficient. We did not try the restaurants or any of the amenities in the hotel except for the wifi. Short walk to at least 8 restaurants in the airport. The train to Vancouver is across the street if you want to venture out. Get a day pass for the train and see the sites. I am spoiled now. Don't think I will be able to stay at another hotel.

Great location. Friendly reception staff. Rooms are comfortable. Visited the restaurant- being in Vancouver I expected options for some Asian dishes. Not available. Breakfast menu was fine- standard dishes.

We stayed here because of a 6am flight and we needed to be close to the airport. Luxurious older hotel and outrageously expensive however the service and food were good and the rooms were totally soundproof. Literally walked out of the hotel to the airline checkin desk. We would stay here again.
