Metropolitan Hotel Vancouver

I am in Vancouver several times a year and have been fortunate enough to stay at most of the Marriott properties in the city. The Metropolitan is a really odd hybrid, and I still can't figure out how to fits into the Marriott portfolio. Documentation from the hotel says "Renaissance", but the Marriott app doesn't indicate that this hotel is more than just a one-off , random hotel added to increase the company's footprint in this busy city. It's a fairly dated hotel, with strip club vibe lights at the entrance. The staff are nice and rooms are well-maintained and clean. Both times I've stayed here, they didn't do anything special for my Titanium status, such as upgrade or welcome note/amenity. The rooms have updated elements, but the dated bathrooms really let the property down. Same for the 1980s fitness center and pool area. It's all just a weird mix of styles and en energy. This property's strong point is its ideal location, right in the heart of the city, just across from the mall and a short walk to Canada Place and the waterfront. Also, pricing can be very appealing here during peak times (cruise season), so it can be a good option for one or two nights. I've left feeling very blah about the Metropolitan. I'd stay again, depending on price, but a comparable Marriott or even Hyatt would be my first choice.

Clean and modern, great location, easy walking from the train from the airport at city center stop. Gym and indoor pool that were always available. We had a few mixups with our reservations and room keys getting turned off but the service staff was always super helpful. Good option for anyone visiting.

We stayed here the night before our cruise to Alaska. It was very easy to get here from the airport by taking the SkyTrain. It was a short 2 block walk from the city center stop. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Dom working the desk was super friendly! He gave us discount coupons and suggestions for restaurants. It was about a 10 minute walk to the cruise terminal the next morning.

My wife and I took a trip to Vancouver, and stayed several nights at the Metropolitan Hotel. We loved it, a very nice hotel. Absolutely perfect staff in every way, from the front desk to bell staff to housekeeping. A model experience. Clean, beautiful, great sleeping. Loved the location: walkable to anywhere including the ship pier, shopping, restaurants, even Stanley Park. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Great stay here, central location handy for shopping centre and bus connections. Excellent staff, very helpful at reception - can recommend Diva restaurant (especially the lobster ravioli and the fab cocktails at the bar).
